As some of you know I am an unabashed independent who trashes the current administration any time I get a chance.

However, actually I am a researcher who is currently developing a story on county music, the old stuff, not the new trash that calls itself country.

I need some input. What is your favorite country music song? You can give me 1 or 2 or a list. I will let you know on the Forum what the top 10 looks like and you just might see it in a future magazine. Many thanks

Well thankful you came on here, it has basically been a political bashing and trash place. I love Alabama's "Feels so Right".

Oral, I'l just ignore your comment, except this 1 post. I am the fartherest thing from being on welfare that you could ever imagine.
You need to go back to school and take some personal evaluation studies to try to upgrade your class and dignity.

This post is not about politics. It is a serious study that is worthwhile and will bring a lot of people big sums, not me however.. i am just volunteering.

I saw many of these artists in concert at some point earlier in my life. I love the music of Kenny Rogers, Dottie West, Conway Twitty and Randy Travis. I have most of my older albums, cassettes and CD's.

This sh*t they call country music today is pathetic ! Bunch of queer radio programmers in L.A. have crammed this crap down our throats and have the gall to call it country music. Once Trump takes care of the North Koreans and Iran, he needs to take on the fake country singers.

Bunch of pretty boys with hats that dance and wiggle on stage then start hip hoppin in the middle of their "song" and that is what is getting played on the radio these days. After 8 years of Obama it seems the N words have carte blanche over everything.

Thank God for Sirius Radio, Classic Country Willie's Roadhouse and bluegrass

You ain't alone my friend.

My breakfast gang this morning at The Griddle had this very discussion over coffee, pancakes, sausage and grits. Karen and Cody always do a wonderful job. Best breakfast in Blairsville!

I said "Amos Moses" by Jerry Reed; and "Long-haired Country Boy" by Charlie Daniels. Certainly anything by the immortal Hank Williams was given a big thumbs up by the group. Waylon & Willie got unanimous approval. The pretty boys of today didn't register any support. All hat and no talent. They certainly ain't country.

A gay sounding fellow from Florida sitting at a table nearby said something about Kenny Chesney and Jason Allqueen. We just looked at him. He had a lisp like Al Gore.

Yep, they are a good imitation of Elvis, he is still more popular than all the old time classic "county" singers.. The real problem is the audience that liked and listened to the old style country are mostly Trump supporters......Out of touch with reality and believe they know best. They are only going to be a problem for a few more years, then the grim reaper will take care of the constant complainers like you, time is the real equalizer.. And the country music of today will fill the airways!!! At the same time A Democrat takes power and does away with all this foolishness of Trumps constant lies and promises..... Queer L.A. programmers my as, its Nashville at its best.. The days of your generation being large and in charge are over..........Country music is still a white industry, the racist slam is just all you have due to you low IQ.... Remember the great BLACK country music artists of your day, did you call them the N words when you listened and bought their records, or it that just the Trump lover coming out in you.......... Have a nice day and I hope and pray you will one day wake up..

Charlie Pride. Ray Charles. Nat King Cole. Count Basie. Otis Redding. Cab Callaway. Jimi Hendrix. All GREAT American artists that contributed to this country. I have many of their albums/CDs which are still enjoyed to this day.

As for those that disrespect this country, its flag and its history, refer to women as ho's, promote violence, and are part of the 13% of the American population that cause 55% of the crime, I'll freely call them N words, that endearing expression they call themselves.

Wake Up, while I disagree with some of your post, you can unequivocally say that I am an "old country" music fan, I am definitely NOT a Trump supporter.

As a discussion point, I have been listening to country music sinc 1939. I have all the old Carter Family 78;s and most of the Jimmie Rodgers. I have listened to them and everything else country in between I owned 2 music stores{ record shops) and at one time over a 1,000 lp;s. Over the years I have given most away as father time has taken it's toll. I retained the best old lps and 78;s and still enjoy them, both on a wind up victrola ( now that is a very unused word) and both monophic and stereo sound systems.
But, I ramble on, happy listening and enjoy the good old time country music.
