to "this is a joke"... The woman was born here, was baptized here, went to school here, works here, volunteers her time to alot of things here, and owns property here. Her husband was also born here, was baptized here, went to school here, and has volunteered his time here for about 20 years. Seems to me that she has alot invested in this town and would like to help it improve. She's from a younger generation of born here Blue Islanders and cares enough to get involved. In these bad economic times for cities all around the country,I don't know why anyone would want some of these positions. I am happy that someone from her generation, who has been here all her life, is able and willing to get involved. She has every right to run, and should. I guess you're the one kidding me.

Yeah, the frasor-peloquin team need another RUBBER STAMP vote.It really doesn't matter, the city will never come back to what it once was. All that is left is dividing up the crumbs.

WE are voting for Mr. Stevo. He will sure make this election exciting. I don't know any one who should be upset with him. Let's see, he was not responsible for closing down the bridges, he sure will not be a RUBBER STAMP VOTE like Ald, Vierya. I think he will think things through before he votes on them, like a real Independent.
how can u say hes not responsible he is a mayors boy he beat on my door with the mayor the last election

Did she decide to run on her own or was she approached out of desperation from thr Peloquin Party? I really do not think Mrs Cheatle knows exactly what she is up against. She is not aware of the corruption and mismanagement of this administration that is why they chose her. This has been the method of operation for the last 20 years. Peloquin chooses a candidate that is overwhelmed and star struck to be an "alderman" and that person just goes thru the motions and Rubber Stamps everything. I see Mrs Cheatle as unqualified for the position of Alderman i will be voting for Mr Hawley.

Listen mr or mrs great idea, all the people that are friends or just aquaintences of Peloquin are mesmerized with his mayoral skills...while I can respect someone who volunteers their time I don't think that automatically qualifies them as an candidate as alderman. Im pretty sure if you ask her what the different issues are in this city, she won't know...the most important issue is the financial woes of the city...I would actually challenge most of the alderman if they know. I say throw a debate together and you will see that the most qualified candidate is going to be Tom Hawley...that's where my vote is going

I know Chris personally she is a lifelong B.I. resident who REALLY cares about the town. I will clue all of you on one thing that I know to be true without a shred of doubt... Chris is is a stand up woman who will voice her opinion regarless of who she's up against. Chris is the furthest thing from being a rubbber stamp for Don. She's simply a resident who cares about her town and wants to make it a better place for all to live and work in. I know if elected she will be a free thinker and represent her ward at council meetings in the best possible way. Give her a chance...She won't dissapoint!!! GOOD LUCK FRIEND!!!

I was proud to sign a petition for a candidate running for Alderman as a Independent candidate, especially since the lady we currently have has done nothing for us. I was just amazed that I would receive a visit from a thug wanting to know if this was my signature. And trying to cross exam me. Is this what goes on in Blue Island politics. I now will definitely vote for the person I signed for, and more.

Vierya is a WASTE. She has done nothing but waste our taxpayers dollars and misrepresent the 2nd ward. She is nothing more than USELESS (besides the fact of being the Mayor's pawn).

That my friend is part of the problem. NO ONE is balancing the budget. Maybe if the current and previous alderpeople had kept a closer eye on the budget, we would not be in such a HUGE financial mess. Serioulsy people ask the candidates questions, REAL questions about their plans for the city. Not just about where they were born, baptized or where they volunteered. It's time we voted for people who will try and make a difference in Blue Island.

Nobody has ever challenged anything in Blue Island, that is the problem. I see nothing wrong with challenging any petition from any candidate. As for "thug politics" are you kidding me? The only "thugging" has come from your Progressive Party. Now that you are getting a taste of your own tactics you don't like it huh?

Don't get me wrong, yes Mrs. Cheatle volunteers, but volunteering doesn't exactly mean that you understand how to get things done in a political atmosphere. Tom Hawley has done great things for the 1st Ward and he is definitely getting my vote. I'm just excited we will have an alderman that will attend meetings finally and maybe keep us abreast on what is going on.
