Nope, Not talking about a new hit band. I'm talking about the Man...Look what he has done over at the Rec Center..I haven't seen this much action in many years. It's just too bad they didn't get rid of the last Director years ago before she destroyed it.

If your refering to Pam Vidovic I highly doubt you'll get anyone to argue with you. Anyone could of took over that place and made things happen, Not just Tommy Brown.

Tommy helped the 6th Ward by getting rid of Gerald Hall. For just that reason I have all the trust in him that he's a honest man. Hall was nothing more then a blow hard that wanted everything for nothing. We all heard many bad things about this joker up at the Meadows. Ask Jerry, He can't stand him.

Maybe, but Tommy was the one who stepped up and has done the work to keep the center open. Why do we critize people when they step up and do the work that the paid city empolyees were never willing to do?

It is funny how when critisized the topic went away from the main subject. Typical Peloquineers tactics. Anything and anyone else we would be asking to see the books before giving any type of contract extention. That is just good sound business. I know, I know, To you Peloquinees good sound business is an abstract Idea. If Mr brown is doing so well Open the books to the Aldermen, They voted on the extention. Some one ask "why is the city paying all the Utilities" We need our bridges open (at least 1 of them). If I'm not mistaken the United Way made a committment to Mr Brown Have them foot the bill on the Utilities, that way the City can use that money in a fund for the Bridges.

Jerry's pissed at him because Gerald was bent over in his trunk in front of the club house and he thought Pam finally lost some weight. Jerry's never forgave him sinse. talk about jumbo!

While at the Hilda Walker School’s open house recently, after I politely greeted two school board members, one of them said to me,“You’re not supposed to be here, you’re not a parent.”

When I told the person that I was a parent, the board member qualified their previous statement by adding,“The parent of a student. They sent an email saying parents only.”

I replied that I did not receive the email, and the board member said,“Not an email, it’s on the district website.”

I have looked on the District 161 website and cannot find anything saying or implying that only parents of students are welcome to attend an open house at any of our schools.

Please clarify this for me.

I have for 21 years had a sincere interest in, and been a supporter of, District 161. As a parent, interested citizen, board member, band booster, in whatever role, I have visited any of our schools over the years and have always felt welcomed.

The largest single charge on my property tax bill is from District 161, accounting for 43 percent of the total bill.

Is there a district policy that addresses who can or perhaps cannot participate in various district activities? Is there a volunteer policy that I am not aware of? If there is a volunteer policy that I should follow, then certainly I will.

I plan to continue to be involved with our schools. I plan to continue to attend board meetings and band meetings. I plan to continue to stack and put away chairs after concerts.

I plan to continue to take care of the garbage at the spaghetti dinner. I plan to continue to attend choir concerts.

And I plan to continue to attend open house.

I plan to continue to be involved with our schools.

I do not plan to be part of any controversy or any pettiness.

I do not know why a board member would object to anyone attending a school open house.

Follow the money trail. What are his plans for the property Mayor Peloquin gave him? Is subsidized housing in the Sixth Ward future? What happened to the grocery store promise.
