Whether you like him or not, he collects one pension that he earned after 30+ years as a police officer in Blue Island. He's working ELSEWHERE, but can't possibly work long enough in Posen to collect a pension there.

Btw... The employees aren't the ones who caused this pension issue. It's the thieving, incompetent and selfish politicians. The workers contribute to the pension fund consistently, whether they'd like to or not. The politicians are the ones stealing from Peter to pay Paul and so forth...

And what type of pension do Blue Island Alderman get?
What are the terms required to receive this? And how much is it?
Please provide cited facts only. Save your assumptions or blatant pot-stirring lies.
You are missing the point... To retire means to retire, the system is not designed to pay someone just because they turn 50 or is it 55? Then go and collect a check for the same type of job, then increase it even more when you get elected to a management position, this guy has excepted and tolerated this towns crimes, no better here then Chicago...clout pays
Just how many DUI's have been recorded in the last 5 years, with all the bars in town...my bet is few to none come from folks leaving double play

14 BI Alderman do not receive a pension nor contribute to a pension fund. They make $200 a month.

He took a job somewhere else. What's the problem with that? He's not collecting anymore pensions from anywhere and certainly not Blue Island. If some other employee feels he's qualified and wants to hire him, what's it to you?

If you want to know how many DUI's have been recorded, do a little research. I've noticed most of the time when people write things on here, they don't want to check facts because it destroys their made up assumptions.

Maybe I am talking out my ass but was it not played out like a retirement? If it was taking a job somewhere else fine, but if it was a way to boost pay then thats another story.

What kind of job does someone take that doesn't "boost pay"? I don't get it?
Any pay is more than no pay?
It won't boost any pay from his pension.
If he took a job at Walmart, would that be okay?
Is it because he acquired skills to be able to gain employment at less than minimum wage after 50?
Is that what you'd like? Anyone interested in making an employment change must do so for no more than minimum wage?

Employees of pension systems contribute to the fund their entire career, just like others contribute to social security, or 401(k) or any other retirement plan.

The elected officials have caused the pension funding issues by stealing from the funds.

Sorry, Candice does not have the umbrella coverage that Hoglund retains. If you park an inch over the yellow curb while shopping at her store a citation is issued, Hoglund and his slob bartender can park their vehicles in the turn lane 24 hour a day no questions asked. How will he attend council meetings for Posen and Blue Island when they are on the same time schedule.Does the Carr family receive free golf and fuel?
Are you kidding me? Last I heard, Peloquin gave Hoglund the option to retire and take Posen job or be FIRED. Now they want him as an alderman? Wasn't there a couple of questionable car accidents involving Hoglund? Both in city cars ? one when he was Blue Island chief and one when he was Posen chief? both allegedly involving alcohol?? as a matter of fact, didn't he wreck his Posen car leaving a bar on 130th and Western? Just asking?? not accusing.

Explain to me why he isn't collecting a Blue Island pension? He retired and should be collecting a nice Blue Island pension and then working for Posen as a chief. If he's not collecting his Blue Island pension, he can give it to me.Read the Illinois pension code, I have no problem with him working somewhere else after retirement from Blue Island, but he most definitely wouldn't just forget about a pension that he paid into for 31 years.

I guess it would depend on who you ask that makes it questionable. The truth is that neither involved alcohol, nor were his fault.
The one with the Posen car was parked. He wasn't even in it. It was a hit and run.

Is it "matter of fact" or "Just asking not accusing"?
I guess if you throw out some BS, then follow it up with "Just asking not accusing" then you think it's ok and you still get your BS message across.

Weren't you involved in questionable acts ? Involving alcohol? Maybe a few borderline teenagers?
Of course, Just asking?? not accusing.
