There were less than 200 votes cast in yesterday's Mayoral election.
Out of 2100 citizens, only 196 bothered voting.
It's difficult to listen to a community complain about a city government that doesn't perform up to their standards when the citizens don't exercise their democratic right to decide who is running their local government.

Perhaps they didn't vote because they like things the way they are.

This town is a lost cause. Why vote when there is no one worth voting for??? They all are a joke and disgrace!!

Actually the mayor and council are doing a good job. Mayor Waggoner and the current council inherited the results of years of bad management.
The town was in debt, infrastructure was in need of repair and much needed to be done. Much progress
has been made.

All of you who complain about your electricity rates, look around and you will see that other towns have the same or greater rates. Electricity,
like gasoline, has gotten more expensive. I wish that it wasn't so, but it is.

Willow Springs is NOT a lost cause, Willow Resident. It is only as good as the people who live there. If you are dissatisfied with the
elected officials, why didn't you run for office?
I am sure that you could fix problems of decades
in a few moments. It is easy to blame and whine
from the safety of an anonymous computer. It take
committment and resolution to take on the thankless
task of running a town.

Until you do, don't damn Willow as a lost cause.

By the way, I do not work for nor am I related to
anyone working for the City.
