Wonderful news! St. Thomas development is doing terrible. I new they would never be able to undercut Valley.

Brake thought he would be raking in the dough with having that quarry here. Hasn't materialized. Since day one most people knew it was a poor location choice to be viable. This just proves it even more.

$2.4 mil to employee 100 people. 20 to work and the other 80 to stand around a do what union workers do best - nothing. Oh sorry - they do do something; they cash checks from our tax maoney and stand around drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes.

Obama will stimulate allright. Wait and see how stimulated you'll be when you get future tax bills to pay the debt.

I didn't realize that section of Rte 30 was in such bad shape that it needed repaving.
What about the section of Rte 30 that goes thru the heart of Chambersburg? Especially since they've dug up around the square, that road is really rough. IT needs to be repaved. Is it on the agenda?(Is this the State's responsibility, or the borough's responsibility?)

Hello-- STD doesn't have a paving/resurfacing business. Of course they wouldn't undercut Valley Q. I appreciate having a quarry on this side of town, been there many times getting stones for my business.

I know - these two bit little businesses the worry about 1 tons of stone make such a difference that the quarry had to layoff just about every employee they had.

So it might be a convenience for you but it certainly does not help the fact that they put it in a poor location.

I just drove part of that road and with exception of one spot the road is just fine.

It's "free" money and those in charge don't want to pass it up even if the repaving isn't necessary.

As for the comment about downtown chambersburg, that is a total disaster.

Chambersburg wants people to come downtown to shop. what they need is an alignment shop downtown so people can have their cars realigned while they are shopping.

They patch a spot but the patch is just horrible.

On Orchard drive beside Ventura there is a patch. it's not smooth with the road, it's humped up.

I don't understand why they can't patch smoothly and evenly with the road.

Incompetence might be the reason.
Or possibly lack of concern.
