According to the "Watauga Democrat," "The campaigns of Ball, Brantz and Pea paid Pennsylvania-based Capitol Promotions a combined total of $2,384.65."
So much for Democratic candidates supporting local businesses. Those who give to these candidates and no better than the large corporations that are moving jobs overseas.

Fortunately Templeton and Phillips are spending their campaign funds in local businesses according to the "Watauga Democrat."

Unfortunately this town has enough yellow dog voters to continue the inept, wasteful, vindictive politics that we have come to expect from Boone Town Council.

Wow, you think that by not linking the article you can get us to believe that it says what you want us to.

1. Would Paul Ollis have actually done work for the Democratic candidates?
2. Did you skip over the part of the article where it says that Andy Ball paid a local artist and local print shops to do some of his campaign materials.
3. Do you use local businesses for everything you do? What if you could get higher quality work for cheaper elsewhere, and it's not like Capitol Promotions is some kind of multinational conglomerate.
4. Which party is it that has a monthly, organized event that pumps thousands of dollars into a variety of local businesses (not just print shops)?

Also, which party did NOT want a downtown business torn down in favor of a second Walgreens?

Which party is AGAINST regulations that would ensure that there's adequate living space for workers and families live so that our local economy can thrive?

And which party has within its ranks a major opponent of those same regulations, which would require that his "mixed-use" zoned developments ACTUALLY have commercial space, something he has failed to do on more than one occasion?

The fact is we have Brantz, Pena and Ball seeking office, again and again, claiming that they will finally do the right thing. Can we trust them?
In this case they launched a campaign to have the locals by locally. They used tax payer dollars to promote it.
But as soon as they think people are not looking Brantz, Pena and Ball leave the locals behind to get their campaign materials done in Pennsylvania.
They care nothing for local jobs as Brantz and Pena are employed by the state. They will have jobs no matter what and they can send their North Carolina taxpayer dollars to Pennsylvania. Their defense for going out of town, it is okay to put locals out of work for Boone is not unionized.
I wonder what other hypocrisy they are planning if re-elected. At best they are hypocrites and at worse liars.

I know ball has supported locals a lot helping with the art craw, Harmon and mena are both local owners. Not sure about jenny but she just seems too young and not ready. Templeton could care less about anything local , he just wants to build as many slums as he can to make easy money off students.

Name one, just one slum that the templetons have built to make money off students?

Just one.

If you can't please crawl back under the rock you came from.

What on earth are you babbling ?? Its not even coherent, much less supported by facts. I can tolerate a person of other political affiliation if they can converse in a manner where they state facts an back them up but you sound like a loon from the backwoods of Avery. Please, for the courtesy of all involved learn how to talk in a coherent manner before making yourself look like a retarded hill billy.

http://www2.wataugademocrat.com/News/story/Ma... This also shows that everyone running has spent some money here. I am quite certain that everyone running has at one time or another spent money in boone. I just think out of all of them that ball woul be the person out to help others the most while the Templetons are in it more to change zoning policies that would help them as they have been in endless battles with the county verse caring about locals from what i have seen over the years. In general people that are developers are not exactly known for wanting to help LOCALs much. Their main concern seems to be looking out for #1

The topic of this thread is the hypocrisy of Brantz, Pena and Ball. If you want to write about someone else then start your own thread. Oterwise I will continue to repost my original statements everytime you are off topic dumb ass.

You call those^^^^^ slums? Really?

The templetons are no friends of mine, but lets be honest here. They build and maintain some of the nicest buildings in town.

This is fact and trying to spin or debate it only serves make you look more foolish than you already do.

This is just stupid. Everyone in Boone has spent money out of town, but it doesn't mean they are against local businesses. I'm guessing Harold has never shopped at Wal-mart or Amazon.com .

Perpetual politicians like Brantz, Pena and Ball who spend taxpayer money to keep people in Boone to spend their money should not be two faced hypocrites.

"Perpetual politicians"--now that's really funny. Perpetual means "never ending or never changing, so frequent as to seem endless and uninterrupted." Brantz and Ball are in their second terms as town councilmen, and Ms. Pena is NEW to running for political office. That is hardly perpetual. But then again, Harold said it. By the way, even if they were perpetual politicians, so what? You say it as if that's an insult. Politics is a career for many Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians alike. Nothing wrong with that.
