My Conclusion

To Charter Communications:
In light of recent events involving Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty and his being removed from the show. I demand that the bigoted, intolerant, Christian hating network A&E be removed from the channel lineup. I don’t believe it is in the best interest of Charter Communications to be affiliated with such a network.

Well said. I may not fully agree with Phil but the man has a right to express his opinion. He did not speak of hate, he only expressed his views, which every person should be entitled to do in this country. So much for freedom of speech. These knee jerk reactions to any comment not deemed politically correct is rapidly dividing us deeper into both racial and social divides because if people can not express their opinions honestly, then the loss of free speech and personal expression soon turns to resentment. DD is one of the few shows you can sit kids down to watch without worries of sexual content or foul language. A&E was a third rate cable network begging for viewers and sponsors before DD came along. If they lose the 11.5 million DD viewers, they will be right back where they started. DD viewers are us rednecks, family people and main stream Americans, I doubt many gays are DD fans anyway. Phil had already decided to leave the show next year because network executives inserted bleeped out words to "spice up" the show, making it appear Phil had used inappropriate language which he had not used. A&E will not concern their self with viewers concerns I feel sure as they will not admit they are wrong but if viewers will protest to the advertisers including Wal-Mart, which has DD products in more departments than any other entertainment brand, money talks and A&E will listen. Either way I am done with A&E, their true colors have been revealed. Hopefully the rest of the cast will follow Phil, take their millions, tell A&E to shove it up their a$$, and the family go enjoy the good life in Cajun country.

When you sign a contract and a network pays you the big bucks, you play by the rules of the man.

Corporations don't care about freedom of speech, nor are they obligated to allow it.

Very true, however, they promoted the show heavily based on Phils religious beliefs. If he had spewed hate it would be different. He stated his opinion and quoted scriptures then added he respected others right to believe as they wish. I personally do not fully agree with him but I feel he has a right to free speech. Yet in the end, as you stated, it honestly comes down to the contract he signed as to how free his speech can be. The devil is in the details as the old saying goes. I still think A&E was wrong and saddled the wrong horse this time.

The Talking heads are on all the Networks bringing out their experts. I love the way non-Christians seem to know what a Christian is supposed to be like and how a Christian is supposed to act. They seem to know all the answers about a subject they know nothing about.

A non-Christian saying all Christians must accept Homosexuals is like me saying all homosexuals are pedophiles.

Money speaks louder than any words known to man.
A&E will take a heavy loss without Duck Dynasty and I can guarantee you that the Robinson family won't starve without the show. It's funny how homosexuals can freely speak their mind about their hatred for anyone that doesn't agree with their lifestyle but can;t take it when anything is said in return. I don't care what anyone thinks homosexuality is not natural. No one is born a homosexual it's a choice just as it is Mr Robinson's choice to believe as he does. Without an apology from A&E I will never watch the channel again. Without ratings their advertising will not sell and they will cease to exist.

We will all have to see how this plays out and will be impacted by whatever is in the Contract with A&E. A thought is Duck Dynasty Products are an A&E based product, However, Duck Commander Products are totally a Robinson Family Product Line!

At some point Wal-Mart will have to weigh in about the issue I feel certain. Wal-Mart stores generate 50% of the DD promotional product line sales. I would not be surprised to see a boycott of DD sponsors by the LGBT groups. I would hope the retail chain stands firm behind the DD brand but profit and political correctness seem much more important than doing the right thing anymore. As for A&E, they better start looking quickly for 11 million new LGBT viewers to replace the 11 million DD fans they just pi$$ed. Doubt they find them.

There should be a boycott over the attack on free speech. I fully support Phil. This political correctness crap border lines fascism. Under Armor Co. announced today they will continue to support the DD brand and hopefully other retailers will too.

We have reached a point our beliefs apparently can't be voiced if it is in disagreement of some minorities lifestyle. I think LA governor Bobby Jindal summed it all up. "It's a sad day when Miley Cyrus gets laughs and Phil gets suspended." We have allowed our rights to be slowly stripped away by the minorities ultra sensitivity, we have allowed political correctness replace free speech and we have lost our direction because our moral compass has been forcefully misaligned by a few, in a world where majority rule means nothing any longer.

Phil has a right to state his beliefs and opinions just like anyone else. Attempting to censor Phil is within itself contrary to the tenets of PC .
The selective applications of PC is direct evidence that PC is Bullshit (with a capital B ). Bobby Jindal is emerging as a person of wisdom.

You've never been more right. It's funny how extreme conservatism and extreme liberalism always share the same goal of suppressing dissension, also known as free speech.

Even though A&E made a terrible decision, this event has good attributes to be taken advantage of. Situations like this occur everyday in the real world. The fortunate side of Phil's firing is the fact this event is high profile enough to draw not only national attention but personal enough to resonate with us average Americans. We all can relate to the events which finally allow everyone to realize how serious the attack on our freedom of speech truly is. Secondly, it reveals how strong the push against freedom of religion idles in the background. We are silently being stripped of our basic rights constantly, thankfully high profile events like this allow us to unite for a common goal.

If them gay folks were as intolerant of each other as they are of those of us that think they are a deviant minority, there wouldn't be any gay pride parades.

A&E had a multitude of ways to have addressed this issue and the choice made was one that puts them in a no win situation. The Robertsons are now sitting in the drivers seat and will likely be able to dictate terms of surrender to the A&E Top Management. A&E Parent Companies are apparently taking a hands off position publically and the Major Sponsor for Duck Dynasty is supporting the Robertson Family. Would seem to indicate whomever made the decision to can the father should be cleaning up his resume and start looking for a New Job. BTW: A smaller network has already offered DD an opportunity to join them with Full Control of DD Show!
Phil has a right to his opinions.Unfortunately, the morons at [email protected] also have the right to fire their employee if they think it's in their best interest.Remember,[email protected] is a very liberal network.Plus, if [email protected] backs down, it will make them appear to be putting their lofty"ideals"aside for money.

As appalled as A&E pretends to be, I noticed they have not made a move to alter the DD marathons airing over the next week. Almost 34 hours of broadcast. Also A&E announced they were delaying the start of filming for the new season. I guess by delaying they have hopes of resolving the Phil situation they created or risk losing the entire family and show. Based on the demographics of the show I seriously doubt they have a strong gay following, yet they allowed the complaints of a few offend the masses of their viewers. Hopefully other networks and media outlets will learn a lesson as well from A&E's error. Wal-mart reported today they are selling record amounts of DD products and actually selling out of DD merchandise since the Phil issue went viral. DD items are the current number 1 appeal item in both men and women's departments. I guess the people have spoken , sadly A&E is reaping the benefits as well from the product sales.

I don't watch the show, but where do the other DD members stand on this issue? It appears they would support Phil by not producing any more episodes. Are they still in production of new episodes with A&E?

So glad we got this backwards redneck idiot off television. The American public has spoken. Bigotry against homosexuals is not going to be tolerated in this country. This battle is being won a little more every day.

A&E should be commended for taking a firm stance against stifling religious hatred. Heroes.
