So Allen, you think addiction to drugs or alcohol is funny. I'd be mighty shocked to learn that you have not ONE relative with an addiction. Instead of making fun of people with drug and alcohol addictions, we should be helping them get help for their problems. Did you think it was funny that senator Ted Kennedy was a raging alcoholic for many years of his service as a senator. Do you think it's funny that that another of the Kennedy men, a congressman, a couple years back was arrested for DWI because he supposedly took his Ambien before he decided to drive home. What they needed was for someone to stop enabling them and help them get help for their problem. There's also Republicans as well that have battled addiction. Addiction doesn't attack by political party or social class.<quoted text>
How about that guy Trey Radel, newly elected,(R)Florida, busted in DC for buying 3oz of cocaine from an undercover agent. The admitted alcoholic only got one year probation. I believe he was the one who wanted drug testing for food stamp recipients. He said he will take a leave of absence and donate his salary to charity. Lol. What we the people should demand is random drug testing for ALL our elected officials.
I personally think anyone elected or receiving public assistance of any kind need to be drug tested. They all need help, not ridicule.
