The proposed timber activity in Pisgah National Forest might create a few jobs in the mountain region, but the adverse effect on scenery along the Blue Ridge Parkway would inevitably cause a decline in visitation to the mountains and a subsequent loss of employment within the area's vital travel industry. It is great news to learn that sensible candidates for Congress oppose this costly blight upon some of North Carolina's most splendid natural beauty. To designate a Grandfather National Scenic Area would be conservation of the wisest magnitude.

JIm seems to have his facts mixed up. The proposed Globe timber sale cannot be seen from anyplace on the Parkway. If you have teh facts you would know that 99.9% of the people would not even be able to pick out the sale while sitting on the old Blowing ROck itself.
