Coffee: 5 cents per cup Gas: 25 cents per gallon. What does that translate into today. Thank goodness that gas hasn't gone up the same as coffee.

I agree with "Mocha Fiend" if you think coffee is high look at what people spend for tobacco products ! I know my family is not the "norm" but we eat at Cozy for lunch about once a month and buy our coffe in bulk from them. That is just us..

Just a cup of coffee at SB or other coffee joints is not $4. You're not comparing apples to apples. Coffee is only like $1.25 or so compared to a nickel. And you're not comparing the same product even at that. You're comparing gas station coffee to gourmet coffee. It's an idiotic comparison.

I think that your attitude speaks volumes. The Paris Starbucks isn't CONFIRMED until it's on the monthly closure list. Although we are on the big list we still have time to protest, explain about the road construction, etc..... If anyone knows the email address to write letters and BEG TO save our Starbucks then please post it ASAP. Thanks..........Let's not let our Starbucks go without a FIGHT!!!

Nice attitude! Let me guess....you're a redneck or a friend of Cibil. YOU PEOPLE SUCK! Why would you WANT to see any business close its doors? Those are REAL people that are employed there, not robots. Oh...maybe you wouldn't understand that part of it because you don't have a real job!

What is important to Paris eaters? In order of importance - QUANTITY, then PRICE, then QUALITY. If you give them a mediocre (sp?) buffet (even barely eatable in some cases) they will support it like nobody's business (and pay a premium for it too). But you give them quality and ask them to pay a fair price for it - forget it, they'll let it close. Oh, and if you do have quality at a fair price and let your quality slide even a fraction, you're done, you can't ever fix it, they won't come back (Luby's).

big freakin deal! Businesses close in Paris all the time. Local businesses especially! That's way worse than some big shot corporation closing some little coffee shops. They should have done more research before they came to Paris. We have as many places to sell coffee as we do as churches and fried chicken places. We have Hard Book Cafe in Hastings, Paris Coffee Co, Cozy Cappuccino and more! You people are just sad because you won't look so trendy without holding your little starbucks cup. Have you seen what kind of economy we are living in today? These people are doing you all a favor by closing this store. When gas gets up to 10.00 a gallon some day, who's gonna be open then!?! Why don't you all come together for something that's really important. cripes! I haven't bought one single thing from Starbucks since they opened their doors. If I'm desperate for coffee, I buy my folgers at WALMART.. and guess what folks ( they sell starbucks brand now ) WOO WOO!! THere ya go! You can still have your starbucks coffee. Just hurry up and go through the store here before it shuts down and get a cup, when you're done with it, wash it out, pour your new walmart bought starbucks coffee in it and just rewash the cup when you're done and use it over and over! Im sure it will still give you the special "i'm hot & trendy " feeling you are looking for!

I don't think it is the construction. The Mt. Pleasant store is closing as well and it is on a main street that has been free from construction. It's also only been opened about six months. Sucks too!

I personally like Paris Coffee Company better anyway. Their flavored coffees keep more of the coffee flavor. Starbucks seems to sugar their's down a lot more. When I want coffee I want something that tastes like coffee with a hint of flavor not and blast of sugary flavor with not even a hint of coffee.
Of course I do not get coffee there all the time. It is a treat every once in a while, just like everything else seems to be these days.

someone says the construction is hurting Starbucks, bull, the construction is making everyone drive right past their entrance. When the construction is finished most of the traffic will be going over the overpass and not on the service road where Starbucks is. So if they can't make it now then they certainly won't then. This is just market economics, a good product at a fair price wins every time and they just aren't supplying that or so says the market forces. Not enough preppy wanna bes in Paris and I guess I'm glad of that. So we are loosing a Starbucks and locals will be forced to do business with local coffee houses owned and operated by good local people who support our community.Awwww, dosn't that just sound horrible.
