Can the land be legally taken away .... if someone donates something, can they really just decide someday down the road that they want it back to make money for themselves????? What tax benefit did they reap from the donation??? Sounds like the Tiger Sanctuary needs a lawyer.

I guess I don't understand what "donate" means !! What I do understand is what I see is 'Pure Greed'!!

Why doesn't the owner of the land build the bed and breakfast at the same site as the Tiger Sanctuary ?
What a Great attraction that would be for that type of business.
Stay over an visit the Tigers !!
My wife would have me take her to a place like that with out adoubt.
Florida has Dolphin Island ! Missouri can have Tiger Land !
Don't people think anymore beyond the selfish pride of the money they think they can make.
This would be a STUPID Missed opportunity to add too the State tourist industry and a unique icon for Missouri.

Shame on these people for wanting to take back what they "DONATED". Pure Ugly Greed on their part. The couple that have the Tiger Sanctuary need to fight this, please hire a lawyer I wouldn't be surprised if there is a lawyer out there that would represent them for free.

We pass this sanctuary every time we go down to our prop. in Goose Creek. I've been there several times. The amount of work these folks have put into providing a decent place for these big cats to live is amazing. They've made special pools & fountains for the "kitties" in the summer; special toys for them; they've healed several of them from deformation & blindness and they take care of these cats like they are human children. It's just disgusting the owners of the land are being so greedy as to want to put up a bed n breakfast which isn't going to fly in Bloomsdale, MO. Not when St. Genivieve is so close. I WOULD LIKE TO URGE EVERYBODY TO GET AHOLD OF THE OWNERS NAME & ADDRESS FROM PUBLIC RECORDS & SEND A NOTE STATING JUST HOW HORRID THEIR ACTIONS ARE!!! I KNOW I AM!

If it was donated to hem and a lot of money has ben put into it, it should be a Tiger home. Gosh, if I donate money to a children's home I guess after 10 years I could ask for it back. I think the people who donated the land are a real JERKS. I hope they read this.

Any of you ever heard the old saying of "two sides to every story"? I don't think you've heard the other side and I'm betting that it's not about a B&B.

I can only guess that the title to the land was not signed over. I'm assuming it was set up as a right to use land grant.

I feel 30 days to relocate these animals and their enviroment is unfounded.

I personally know what wonderful people Judy and Keith are,and how much hard they work to have put in to their tiger rescue. The owner of the land donated to them, owns over several hundred acres, out where they are at. The tiger sanctuary is on a tiny three acre fragment of that land. Now they are having the carpet pulled out from under them, due to high speed greed.

I am with Ann there is a 2nd side to the story. I also agree with Suz, the land was to be rented, not donated. Jack yes they are nice people, to do what they do, but they shouldn't lie about things.

The whole ordeal is rediculous. If you agree to let a SANCTUARY move onto your property, you should know that it is not going to be an easy thing to move, and therefore should know that that land will forever be a sanctuary. Obviously none of us know the terms that were agreed upon when they moved onto the land, and we shouldn't jump to conclusions, but at the same time, what do they need that specific three acre tract out there for a B&B. If they can "donate" land, they can afford to buy another tract of land and put it elsewhere instead of uprooting a bunch of big cats and an organization such as this. People like that tick me off.

I would say too bad for the people that donated it. Who paid the taxes on it while it was donated?

If donated land, shame on these people for wanting it back. If it is rented landed they have a right to do what they want after the rental contract has been fulfilled.

Yes Ann, there are 2 sides to every story, but what do you do when someone says they will donate the land and then tells everyone else they donated it,doesn't want anything for it,tells the sanctuary owners this then decides to take it away 3 years later. After he saw the work that went into building the facility, if he didn't want it there he should have never said what he did from the start. I do not think a non for profit has the money to just relocate and build for the heck of it, there had to be some sort of agreement.

How tragic to have an someone who does not honor their word act like a friend of this tiger sanctuary. Despicable. Where can we send a donation?
