This breaks my heart and PISSES ME OFF. Who gave this guy any custody of his children at all? Why are the judges we elect such idiots?

This is so sad.

Thank the father's rights groups for this. It is most likely that they even funded his various trips to court.

If a mother exhibited this type of behavior, the father would be granted full custody and she would never see her children again.

Tribune, name the judge who allowed this guy access to these kids. We deserve the name.

The judge might have saved Amy's life. If you gave her full custody with no visitation rights for the dad, the mental brain coward Probably would have killed her and the boys at the family's home. This is a no win situation.God bless the boys.

You are an idiot. Fathers have so few rights. The full story is not being told. Fathers are usaully the losers in custody battles. There are some major pieces of this story not being told.

Most fathers do not kill their children to punish their ex-wives. This guy was an exception to the norm and many people sounded the alarm, which was ignored by the court.

So you empathize in some way with the father for killing two little boys. Nice.

All that matters now is this mother's children were killed. She loved them; tried everything in her power to protect
them. Let her grieve, let us as a society vow to do everything in our power this never happens again. We will do that. However, for now, let us all take a moment, take this day and the days to come to give her the support she needs. Be with her, support her, feel her pain and loss. No one should ever have to experience what she has. Fight that it may never happen again to any parent. Any mother, father, grandparent, aunt...
That's the very least we can do.

Maybe some good can come from this so that others can get help. A good start would be to learn the name of the judge who allowed this travesty. God bless this grieving mother.

His name is Judge Souk, McLean County, Bloomington, IL
I hope he can't sleep at night. And I hope that people learn from this story. My friend was screwed by the judicial system. This father did not have a good past with the system and he got UNsupervised visits. Not fair!

I refuse to sugar-coat anything for the violent, corrupt, and those who are the real danger to society.

My child and I know just exactly how this lady feels involving threats, violence, death threats, control, "Emotional Blackmail", and where nothing is done with distrubing people like her husband. No one should have to live in fear of his/her life, or their children's lives where things are ignored. One can see that victims will give into fear or that battered people will often go back hoping that things will be different.

Many times the courts also refuse to take the children out of explosive and controlling situations. As corruption and violence runs rampant in the State of Illinois many feel they can do whatever they want.

For sometime what victims/targets/"Victims of Violent Crime" see is that the abuser, controlling, violent one, those who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder, those who are a threat to society are never taken off the streets or dealt with in a legal manner. Some brag that unless one has a recording it will be their word against the other person or persons.
The play sick games and mind games in order to try to control the victim/target. Sociopaths even claim that he/she can use false witnesses and "Fraud-on-the-Court" . Actually many of us can blame corrupt lawyers, corrupt officials, corrupt courts, etc. for the continuing violence, murders, etc. Even at the state level they file false reports and refuse to acknowledge the violence/homicidl activity, hostage taking, etc. In many instances there is no place safe for the victim/target/"Victim of Violent Crimes who is threatened to go.

Many abusers and violent people feel they are above the law and do not have to acknowledge their criminal activity. He/she make take the "Joseph Stalin, Red Terror", stance that since they are here the world owes them something. Many times this criminal/homicidal activty is shoved under the rug with pay-offs involving insurance fraud, and the hostages own money if he/she is stupid enough to pay for any of the criminal/homicidal activity.

Memories have made many survivors the activist they have become in spite of "No Talk" programming. I am sorry to hear about the loss of this lady's children and there is really no excuse good enough for what is illegally taking place in the state of Illinois.

Way to lie, and put words in my mouth. I never said that I empathized with the father, I just stated the the full story has not been told.

You want his name...no problem! James E. Souk, McLean County

I am a friend of Amy's. This is an OUTRAGE!!! with all the overwhelming evidence, how can a judge, a person we look to for justice, allow this to happen? I hope this judge wakes every day, to thought of these boys...and lives with the guilt for the rest of his life! As soon as he is held accountable, maybe other judges across the nation will take more consideration in thier decisions and save the lives of other children!!!

This is not relevant at this moment - another battle maybe when there is not the loss of innocent children and pain. Nothing validates this occurrence. Nothing justifies it. In this moment we all need to grieve with Amy and all family members. A loss no one should ever experience. And seek to never happen again. Nothing validates what happened here.

This mental brain would have fond a way to harm her and the boys.

I know precisely how that mother feels, and my heart grieves for her and her children. Our courts and State's Attorneys are overwhelmingly biased in favor of the accused.
My daughter was sexually molested by a male whose behavior and molestation history is known to the sheriff and the courts. However, the State's Attorney refused to prosecute the molester because there was "possible cause that his actions were invited." And pink blackbirds fly over Villa Park, too.
I'll never call the police again, that's for sure... maybe the coroner, but not the police.

men should have shared cousttody rights. men also should not have to pay child support when women put men in this situation. they should mediate all these divorce cases properly to begin with.

When looked at from both sides, this is not difficult to understand.

The father's behavior was due to the termination of his rights as a parent and the mother's abduction of their children with the aid of the court.

Since the mom was the one that abandoned the marriage, she should not have been allowed to take the kids with her in order to receive the assets of the marriage which were provided by the father.

It is the legal system that encourages opportunistic mothers to make 'visitors' out of fathers. It is the legal system that is responsible for this tragedy.

Had this father's rights been respected (as they were during the marriage), those kids would probably still be alive today.

Every adult in these poor kids' lives failed them miserably. God rest their little souls.
