California Sunshine; you just brightened my whole day with that wonderful story about your pit bulls. I have a pit bull also I usually dont call him a pit bull though I call him what his true breed is called and that is American Staffordshire Terrier, His name is hummer and I guess some people call his breed red nosed pit bull (full blood) He is amazing, as well as your dogs sound. My pit opens the door and lets me in I dont even need a key cause I dont have to lock the door with him inside, and since he opens the door for me I still do not need a key. Dogs are, for the most part, a product of their environment and behave accordingly. I owned and operated a pet grooming shop for over 20 years, pitties were welcome, so were Chihuahuas. If you raise a pitty to be a fighter, that's what he'll be, if you raise a Chihuahua to be a little biting monster dog, that's also what he'll be. I happen to have 4 rescue dogs, 2 of them are Chihuahua mixes and neither of them would ever put a tooth on anyone. My vet says that my two Chi's are better behaved than 99% of the dogs that he sees and that's saying a lot. I guess my point is, just about every breed can be good or bad, environment is usually the key. Some dogs, like some people, are inherently bad, born with a few screws loose and all but, as for the others, please don't damn the dog until you take a closer look at how they were raised. Sort of like ill-mannered kids.
