Review: Gennaro's Plumbing

They are the worst at keeping up with their schedules. It has been a week now and they have been giving excuses for why they have not been able to make their appointments. I just finished talking to another company and they sounded more professional than this company. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I too have had nothing but problems with this company. They are contracted through American Home Sheild and I have been trying to fix a water closet for over a month now. I am on a septic and it's my understanding that a contiuously running toilet can seriously cause damage. My husband tried to turn off the water at the toilet, but the shutoff valve broke. Now we have a stick holding up the ball cock to keep the water from running. We called in for repairs on November 9th and it's now December 9th! What does it take to get Gennaros to honor their contract with American Home Shield. And then what does it take to get American HOme Sheild to honor the contract with us.

Gennaros plumbing told me that he would be back in 30min with a new water heater. Two hours later after contacting American Home Shield to find out where he was,(since his cell phone was full and not excepting messages) American Home Shield told me that he had denied the claim for improper connection. Which is totally not true! Worked fine for fifteen years!

They have the biggest scam going on with American Home Shield. Their so called plumber came out and said he would be right back. That was 4 days ago. He also told American Home Shield he ran an camera to detect a leak. This was not true. No worries as we have the plumber recorded and on video. It is now in the hands of my attorney! BEWARE OF THIS CO!!!

I would have to disagree with all of your comments.I too have used GENNARO'S Plumbing and have been very pleased with their service.People take the time to read your policy. Their just doing what the policy allows. The problem company is American Home Shield. I have since switched to OLD REPUBLIC HOME WARRENTY.I again used Gennaro's and was still treated with professional,prompt and friendly service.

My experiance with Gennaro's Plumbign was wounderful! I have a contract with american home shield and they are the only plumbers i request. Their dependable and highly knowledgeable. I've had them to my home for over 10 calls through the years and some times things are not covered but thats the insurance company dening it not the plumbers.

***What happened in the above matter??? I too live in Glendora and have a tankless system. American Home Shield required we use them after 2 other plumbers could not locate the problem. Because of a bogus explanation by Franco (aka Frank) who works for Gennaro's Plumbing our home insurance (American Home Shield) has now DENIED our claim. I am considering legal action as well.

Don't ever contact this company! It is the worse! I had Franco (aka Frank) the plumber out as well. Always telling me 'he would be back to fix the problem' and showing up days later only after I had to place calls to his office. The office is very poorly run as well. We had NO WATER in our house for 8 days thanks to Franco walking off the job and then being soley responsible for having our claim denied by our insurance company! We had to get a second opinion (out of pocket expense) who disagreed with ole Franco and our claim was reinstated. It cost us time, money, and lots of aggrivation using this company! NEVER again! No running water in a house over 24 hours is considered an emergency. But it never was by this company! Beware! Too many other companies out there to choose from. Stay away from this one! Interesting that they have done nothing to improve their image after all these years and complaints.

I find it appaling that how this lori character does not understand home warranty companys gennaro' Plumbing just went out to my home again on 5/3/10 and again their service was fantastic!!!! people need to stop killing the messenger its your warranty company that tells them what to do. P.s. Dont you have something better to do with your time?

to tony, you failed to tell the whole story regarding your situation with your tankless water heater. american home shield sent you 2 plumbers that did not know how to work on tankless units. i went out and advised american homeshild that problem your having is due to an improper installation your tankless is enclosed in a cabinet which caused burners to fail due to debrie thus being an improper installation. which is not covered under your plan. Did you want us to make a false report? di you wanted us to commit insurance fraud for your benefit? We do not work that way ever!!! and all these claims and complaints are from bitter angry customers that did not get what they wanted.

to lynn in santa ana you failed to tell again the whole story. you requested for me because I had serviced your home 2 years ago on a pipe leak this time you had a pipe leak which your mobil home is piped with quest piping and you do not want a repipe so you will continue to have pipe leakes. this time around it took 8 days because your mobil home was flooded under neath when i went under the home some repair guy put a hose and a clamp to connect the pipes this is improper installation which was denied by your home warranty company. and because i did'nt lie for your behalf i"am a horrible person. when complaining people please indicate the whole story.

I would love for everyone to read this!!! I'am an 65 year old woman on a fixed income. I called gennaros plumbing and advised i was having a problem with my toilet. Frank came out did a simple unplugging he was doen in 15 min. I was told the charge would be 65$. After frank was done he told me not to worry about payment.It was an easy job and that as a courtasy he would not charge me. When in this day an age would a company do a job for free? That is how wounderfully honest and respectful this company is. i recommend them highly. they are the only ones I call.

- Misdiagnosed our water heater problem and we are still without hot water.

-Unwilling to work with us in any reasonable manner to resolve our problem

-Wasted time on the phone with the office staff that is filled with liars. They lied to us and to AHS about the status of the service request.

-If at all possible ask AHS for a different plumber.

-I can see how this company earned a B- with the Los Angeles better business bureau. I am only surprised that the BBB score is not lower.

-They are very efficient at collecting the co pay and that is about all they are good at.

In regards to this complaint. Yet another home warranty customer angry with non coverage. Had my tech misdiagnosed your water heater AHS would have gladly sent our a second opinion. Thus far, you advised you still do not have hot water. Is it because the claim was denied? and you are refusing to pay out of pocket? or is it because you refuse to make yourself available to set appoitments? Either way a second opinion is in your right. Our office does not lie, we simply have the unfortunate job of informing a homeowner of something they do not want to hear.As for our rating with the BBB it is homeowners like yourself that put complaints in out of anger. Every complaint sent to us is answered and to date the BBB has dropped all complaints due to the homeowners lack of merit.Com plaints done in anger because you do not read your AHS policy

I have heard horror stories about this company and the comments above show how unprofessional and irresponsible it continues to be.
First, if customers were satisfied with your services, they would not complain. When you cannot fix basic problems or address concerns or keep appointments, of course a customer would be upset.
If you were treated as poorly as you treat your customers, let's be honest, you would complain too.
Time to take a good look in the mirror and start addressing the feedback instead of making excuses.

The only horror stories you think you've heard about our company has actually nothing to do with our company. A majority of work thatwe provise is for home warranty comapanies. When the homeowners claim is denied logically the attack is against the messanger. From time to time a tech may run behind schedual but our office is in the forefront of letting the homeowner know. If they chose to reschedual they are the first call in the morning. Basic concerns are always addressed, however if a claim is denied the only concern that homeowner has is if we could still do it at no charge. Of course no one works for free. Thus the complaints are given unfairly and without merit.

You are clearly missing the point, yet again. The people I have spoken with are your customers who have home warranties.

Whether or not your main customers are those referred by the warranty companies, you are subcontracted to provide (not provise, as you state in your response) quality services to the homeowners who purchased the warranty.

From speaking with those who have been dissatisfied with your service, no one's claim has ever been denied. There are serious issues about your company's ability to keep scheduled appointments and never contacting the customer about why your technician did not show up.

As stated previously, if you keep your word and provide good service, no one would have any reason to complain.
