Shut up, Kunta Kinte... At least they aren't selling drugs. I would have no problem with these vendors if they had permits and health inspections just as regular restaurants do

Business owners that follow the rules and pay taxes deserve protection from unfair competition. The public deserves protection from unhealthy vendors.

Read the article, they did have health inspections, they failed miserably.

"Old style Mexico" has no place in the United States. Bust them and deport them! Our nation, our laws. If you trvel to Mexico and break their law, you are guilty until proven innocent. Why does that not work for illegal aliens here?

ICE should come along with these code enforcement people. The restaurants have every right to complain as does any other business who is being squeezed out by these non tax paying unlicensed business.Gomez was granted amensty for being here illegally so he figures it's ok to continue to break our laws.According to our politicians these people are doing jobs that Americans won't do.I thik we should buy these food vendors a one way ticket to Washigton D.C. and let them sell their unsanitary food to our politicians at lunch time.

Three cheers for the county. If only cities and other counties would follow suit, we'd rid ourselves of these illegal activities. I wonder what that meat that couldn't be identified or fit for humans was? Dog? Cat? Rat? Possum? Skunk? Who knows, all I know is I didn't eat any and would never buy from such filth. That vendor said it is like "Old Style Mexico". Try current style Mexico. They still do that.

The ones eating from those carts aren't going to be eating at the local restaurants. So leave them be. That are making money for their families. They are not out stealing or selling drugs. We don't need to eat from their carts. At least they are working. Better than most the people in Watts who sit on the behinds collecting welfare.

I remember arresting illegal venders selling not only food but flowers. Here's how the questioning went.( In spanish of course)
Q. Do you have a permit to sell?
A. No
Q. Do you have I.D.?
A. No
Q. What's your name?
A. Juan
Q. Where do you live?
A. Los Angeles
Q. Who brought you here?
A. A man named Juan.
Q. What's Juan's last name?
A. I don't know.
Q. Where's Juan from?
A. Los Angeles.
These venders are well trained on what to say. I say arrest them all and let Joe Baca complain about it later.

Are you a liberal Democrat? You are such an idiot. What you're saying is let them break our laws as long as they good reason. Have you ever wondered how diseases such as e-coli,swine flu etc get started and spread? Unsanitary conditions. Stop with the bleeding heart and start having one for our beloved America.

The problem is summed up by the quote from the story: "A lot of times they go to court and plead guilty," Williams said. "They will promise not to do it anymore and they are not fined unless they come back for a second offense."
This is the same reason we allow the vast majority of "citizens" in California to drive without insurance - they know they can get away with it.
