1 I wish the best of luck to everyone now searching for jobs. The Allegan Group (formerly Allegan Print and Mail) will soon be closing its doors as well according to letters they sent to customers. Haworth in Allegan is closing by summer '09. http://www.mlive.com/grpress/business/index.s... There are many empty storefronts in downtown Allegan. It's a beautiful town, but it wasn't developed as well as other cities, so it's dying. It had the potential to be as good as downtown Holland or Rockford, especially with the beautiful boardwalk along the river.(No thanks to Perrigo who wouldn't let the city connect the boardwalk because it wouldn't been on their land) We'll see what other companies will have to close up shop here. Soon we'll be a town where everyone commutes to GR, Kzoo, or Holland for work or is employed at Perrigo. |

BTW, slightly off topic, Pine Rest is hiring care providers and they're always in need as they experience a high turnover for that position.

Perrigo is a great place to work for.
Now I know where Delano is Thank You they been in business for a long time. And your right realamerican there is going to be alot more that's the scary part. You should see the number of business up north that have closed down it is sad |

It is scary bunny, I hear everyday about this company going to create 100 jobs, Wow thats great, And the news reporting this seems to think its the greatest thing happening. Then 10 minutes later I hear the news stating this company is cutting 1000 jobs. Its scary because you never know if your next. My company has meetings ever month and tell us things are tough but we are doing ok. I just do not know if I trust them.

I know the feeling I am laid off right now they tell us were all going to called back in Feb.
I have seen what my company has done to alot of people over the last year alone they tell us those of us that stuck it out will be the 1st ones to be called back but I am with you I do not trust them. At least you have meetings we don't even get that. To top it all off we have mexicans working there and I do not trust the upper's to call them back 1st before me and others that is when poo is going to hit the fan I think lol |

Not sure where you got your information, but it is obvious you don't have a clue. As a long time member of the Delano workforce I can say that boardgames were very much a part of what we did. You apparently know only of a small part of what was done there. |

1 I realize that other Companies can go belly up in the current economic situation, but it is clear that Juan was involved in some funny business, there was no need for him to make this situation all the more difficult by failing to make our payroll and leaving it up to his former workers to fend for themsevles to get what he owes us. |

Mass Graves you say? http://disinter.wordpress.com/2008/09/25/5000...
Didn't Juan Mendez own other businesses in Maryland prior to buying DeLano Service? I heard through the grapevine that he or his wife was an attorney of some sort. No matter where you go there just is no job security. Another big lesson to live within your means and not over extend yourself. |

Delano is closed for the moment. They will reopen in one form or another very soon.
