Whatever it was, it certainly did some major damage to these kids. I hope they all can pull through this okay. I can't imagine being a parent and seeing your kids laying there like that.

I think this is a terrible story and want to know if there has been any charity foundations set up for any of these children and the possible medical cost that their families could incur?

We need to share this story with all our loved ones. This could be any family, we all share family time around a fire pit. My prayers are with them asking for God's healing power and supernatural ability.

There had been commercial grade fireworks lit off in that area that nite, and also the weekend before. I would be guessing it was a big morter that had been thrown in the fire pit. Stupid, and tragic. Prayers to the families, and the injured kids.

I agree the facts would support that theory
the burns were not a chemical type burn
it would take a large non-legal type commercial grade morter style firework to make that kind of explosion. It could have washed a shore - someone thought is was a used up fireworks which if it went up and didn't go off could have seems like it was used and not live plus if it had been in the water "how could it be live" well it probably dried out and then went off. Hope the fire marshall and state police can figure it out. It didn't have to be placed in the fire pit that night, could have been there for several days. there was a large fireworks display of this type on sat. night shot off out over the lake, actually evey year they have it.
