Crawfordsville fire ruled undetermined

The cause of the July 2nd fire that destroyed three downtown Crawfordsville businesses has been classified as undetermined.

Well it is understandable if you can't save animals but they know probably if there was a will there would be a way but hope things can change if there was another pet shop to open there.
i would ask the people for ideas on how you can maybe make things easier for businesses to have ways to save there property alot easier in case of another fire.

Questions needs to be asked of the owners, like did they use heat lamps for maybe keeping the snakes and other critters that couldn't tolerate air conditioning very well. Has any of the animals escaped from the cages before, etc.

I never felt like this was arson, but something happening as a result of some faulty equipment or maybe an animial getting out wrecking havoc. After all, many animals are very smart and very unpredictable. Hopefully the owner's insurance company will find the cause.

I'm very angry because the Crawfordsville fire department took their ariel unit out of service because they didn't want to get it fixed. If this unit was working I do believe many of the animals could have been saved.

When the owner rebuild I hope he has the wisdom to have a sprinkling system put in as well as a quick response service.

So that is what caused the fire? A lot of fires are caused by carelessness with cigarettes.
