Immigration crackdown 'gonna get ugly' -

It's ugly alright. At least the Elian Gonzalez thing was fun. This is going to bother a lot of people. When they see a lower middle class family on tv getting pushed around, many will not see it as so 'necessary.' There could've been a better way, they'll say.

I agree that the Feds don't have to do it this way. I think Bush ordered these kinds of raids, just to provoke the turmoil it's causing. He could just as easily have targeted employers with hefty fines and jail time. But, that would be effective. |
|
Doesn't bother me at all. Keep up the raids. In fact, increase their occurance. These people will not leave voluntarilly. So, boot them out. The more the illegals get booted back to their country of
origin, the better. They didn't think we'd do it. Well, we are. VIVA ICE! |

Sara Munoz let her visa expire. Awwww, SHE KNOWINGLY SAID F**K YOU TO THE U.S.
Too bad, so sad. She KNEW the risks and IGNORED THEM. To me that's no different than someone who owes a traffic fine and instead of paying the fine, just blows it off. They know their license will be suspended. She knew the consequences of her actions, so she can't complain about it now. She did it to her OWN children. |

Sob stories are the only weapon proponents of illegal aliens have. This is because right and reason are on the side of those who are are fighting to combat thisillegal invasion. Ms Munoz has flagrantly broken our laws for more than a decade. She, as all lawbreakers, must be punished. Other criminals face punishment regardless of their parental status. At any rate, there is no law stating that Ms Munoz's husband and children may not join her in her native Mexico. So it is Mr. Munoz who is breaking up this family, not the US. Our compassion should be directed at the families of those probably thousands of American workers at the Hormel plant who were robbed of their jobs by the illegals who came in to work at the plant. I am concerned about the financial and emotional toil on those American families brought about by the loss of their jobs to illegals. It is time for Americas to stand up for America!

I know! What is it with these people -- the illegals and their supporters -- they knowingly break laws and then complain, whine and cry when caught and punished? Give me a break! We, as citizens, cannot do that!(Well, we could, but it wouldn't gain us any sympathy.) |

It's ugly to see the negative impact left at our feet by illegals and their ingrate spawn. They need to be dragged out of their homes, houses that have been divided with 25 cubicles for the over-the-limit of inhabitants living in them. They chose to break our laws when they entered, they chose to undercut the American worker, they chose to procreate an inordinate amount of children to supplement their salaries, they chose to steal I.D.'s, they chose to live a life lacking integrity, values and morals. Well friends, there are consequences for every action, and it's time they start paying the piper for their bad choices.

Did you just start watching the news or recently arrived here in the US? |

I'm depressed by the fact that there are so many "haters" in the United States. I'm guessing everyone who posted a negative comment here about immigrants is 100% full-blooded Native American, with all roots stemming back to your ancestors here on this continenet, right? Or, maybe just confused about the fact that the original inhabitants of this continent were not white, did not have European ancestors, and likely also did not at some point migrate here, either. So lets not promote such short-term-American-memory that forgets what happens generations before. Also, how about a little COMPASSION for HUMAN BEINGS...I'm sure you love these people when they're cleaning the poison ivy out of your yard, serving your food, bussing your tables, and cleaning your houses. Maybe you could see beyond the color of someone's skin and their immigration status to realize that WE ARE ALL HUMAN BEINGS.

. I agree with nailing the employers but we still need to go after the illegal employees. Not to try and insult you but I hear a lot of "they". "They" should do this and "they" should do that. People want "they" to go after the employers but are these people using "they" doing anything personally like boycotting these companies? Just because our government gives these companies a slap on the wrist doesn't mean we have to. Consumers have power too. While our government is taking its good old time nailing corporations it doesn't mean we have to wait. Seems like everyone lays the illegal immigration problem on the corporations, OK, so why do these companies stay in business? I say keep up the raids against the illegals AND the corporations AND us consumers boycott these corporations. It seems stupid for someone who wants our government to go after the corporations and then these people turn around and still do business with them. |

It has nothing to do with hate. we are a country fo laws, and these people think they are above following them. The idea that only "Native American" have the right to oppose immigration to the United States ignores the concept of "nation." There was no such thing as the political entity known as the the United States until the Founders created it in 1776. Furthermore, there are not grades of citizenship. One is either a citizen of this country, or one is not. We are not more or less citizens of the United States based on the number of generations preceding us on these shores. And, particularly, we are not more or less citizens of this country based on our skin color or ethnicity. Since everyone in the world has ancestors who immigrated from somewhere else, the immigration history of one's ancestors is probably not relevant to the formulation of wise public policy. |
It's not going to bother as many people as you think. Americans will never except this invasion of our country. If it continues, insurrection will reign. I hope it doesn't, and there's still time to turn the tide. But, we're Americans. It's who we are. |
|
__________ By your way of defining things, a large majority of this country are criminals. Notice the millions of dollars owed many cities on assorted tickets by scofflaws or just take a spin on your local roads and tell me what percentage follow the speed limit(they aren't all illegal aliens). If they think they can get away with it, most AMERICANS violate whatever laws suit them. This Sara Munoz is no different from lots of people. We need a better public policy and enforcement on immigration but this condescending moralizing about law abiding legal citizens takes away from the discussion. Crime and general wrong doing would not disappear from America if you could instantly deport every single illegal alien. |

What are we as a nation to do? On the one hand we have millions of illegal immigrants here that have children. If they deport all the illegal parents what happens to the children. Our social service department will be over run by immigrant children. We should offer to legalize the parents of these millions of children.
If they have committed a crime they should be deported without a chance of becoming a legal citizen. If the parents have to be deported let them make the choice to take their children with them. Don't just leave them for a system that is already struggling to take care of. There should be a seperate agency to oversee the outcome of the snatch and grab of illegals. There should be an agency that assists these people in making important decisions for their children. Many of them have children here in hopes of ensuring they will not be deported because they have american born children. Well now what? We don't need to see this get out of hand. There should be some accountability for everything that is taking place. Many companies are going to suffer for a while but there are legal immigrants in this country that are trying to find jobs, but can't because the illegals have taken the majority of them. Children are going to suffer and be afraid and angry as they grow up if they are forced to stay in a state agency. That will lead to them becoming criminals because they are angry for the way their parents were taken from them. Each state should be allowed to come up with their own way of dealing with the high number of illegals in their state. There should be a way to offer help to those who work and pay taxes in that state to be able to stay in the country if they apply for legal status. If they are criminals they should not be given a chance to become a citizen of the country. Immediate deportation should occur. Something needs to be done and it needs to occur soon because from the sound of the group in Minneappolis they are training the children to become activist. Sounds like they are going to begin to recruit terrorists. Because they will turn their anger and frustration into something more dangerous. |

Don't feel a bit of pity. All they had to do was go through the proper procedures. They didn't. Too bad for them.

Of course it wouldn't, and nobody said it would. Lawless invaders feel entitled to do whatever they want, and our government is pretty much telling them it's okay. How many convictions does it take before they are deported? Some commit crime and crime, and are still allowed to remain here. Simply look at the stats, Hispanics are becoming the leaders in crimes committed. They need to be culled so that we can concentrate on our home-grown criminals. Why allow more to compound any already out-of-hand problem? |
