I get those looks too. I also don't care. But more often than not, people ask me how I do it. The answer is simple.

Buy one Sunday paper. Check to see if there are a lot of coupons that you can use. For example, if the paper costs $2.00 and there is $20.00 worth of coupons, then buy 10 or more papers and start saving big bucks. I have purchased well over $400.00 worth of items for less than $20.00 after the coupon deductions. These newspapers pay for themselves in no time flat. In 2008 alone I have saved well over $15,000.00 because of coupons.

I use coupons all the time. And I'm only 25 but I help out my sister and her kids, she is unemployed and help out my dad who has health problems. So the coupons and my purchases definately help out not only me but the rest of my family and friends.

I get looks from people in line behind me but after checking out, I look directly at them or the cashier and cheerfully state, "I saved $50! Or $100."

Believe me it's well worth it.

You can download the same free coupons, instead of waiting for the newspaper.

My wife saved 73.00 just last week with the coupons she cuts every week. Tops has cheaper prices than Wegman's with the buy one get one deals over there. Between that and Aldi's, she's a good shopper.
