What are the regulations? Your article does not state them. Why write just a tease when you could simply publish the ordinance?

i dont understand opposition to such "new" technology

especially such sustainable technology

if anything was to ever happen to energy resources, the area would still have the opportunity to have power, they wouldnt be dependent on gas and your average power sources

if there isnt a negative environmental impact then i cant understand not being for such a thing
funny

"but we wanted something that was going to be aesthetically pleasing as well," said Marren.

As opposed to the pleasant looking coal burning plants, or say a nuclear plant....

Something small for personal use - OK.

Large scale they are horrible and not cost effective. They only survive with government subsidies. Remember the president wants to "double" wind energy, which turns out to be going from 1% all the way to 2%. It is not worth it.

The article mentions saving money on your utility bills. It DOES NOT mention the loss of property value.

Victor - don't allow it - see how they have ruined Naples and Prattsburgh.

Electricity from wind energy is very expensive, particularly when all its true costs (including tax breaks and subsidies, backup power costs, and
transmission costs) are taken into account. These giant machines produce significant power only about 20% of the time. When they do turn, the electricity produced is sold to the grid at the highest price bid that day, thus displacing lower cost power. This pushes up the cost of electricity for ordinary electric customers -- all for the benefit of a large foreign owned corporation. Billions in tax write-offs and subsidies for wind projects total more than developers get for selling the small amount of electricity turbines produce. Supporting this ineffective industry posing as the "green" answer is a great mistake. Huge wind turbines won't put a dent into our power needs, or our use of oil. They only appeal to the naive, uninformed, or greedy. Do the math!

Wind it great....if you want a small quantity of energy during non peak hours... ruin the scenery... have higher energy costs....and more tax subsidies to foreign companies. If you want that...the go wind power.

I have a wind generator in my back 40 on my farm, it supplies all 6 of my neighbors all they need for electricty and their cost is bey low, they have to pay fpor it because of the upkeep of the generator and it is far less than what nimo charges. It was done right 17 years ago and has worked out well for all concerned, 3 years ago sopmeone that was going to buy a hiouse nearby complained that it made the view awful looking and the judge told him that no one was forcing him to buy and move here, end of debates..
Foreign companies get tax rebates and tax breaks on OIL also, so minimize the loss and close the loopholes and then Nationaliz every piece of property they have bought and developed.. Remember when Saudi Arabia did that to OUR oil companies, we spent our money looking, drilling, building refineries, and then they TOOK it all away from the USA and now we have to pay higher prices for all that we had already paid for..
Wind Power and VOTE out the INCUMBENTS this election!
