sad to say that even with 51 people arrested, it wont stop anything. The big dealer are still out there, the people arrested are the middle men! Nice try!

They are pretending they r taking drug dealers off the street. These kids arethe user not the dealers. Most of them were trading one prescription drug for another. Not that this is right but the DA is snowing the public for election time. Get the real dealers. They are the problem

How can they do this? It is ridiculous. What do they think is gonna happen. I dont see this happening in other counties. I know half of these people and they are users not dealers. Why does anyone want to live where you cant do anything without worry that the cops are gonna be up your ass. Absolutely ridiculous dont they have better things to do then get low level drug offenders,

Maybe the RPD will learn something from this.
Instead of searching innocent black people for walking down the street or driving a car, they should do an investigation and arrest the real dealers, who are really more white then black.

its one thing to go after the people using and selling the hardcore drugs...but when you are going to destroy a persons ability to find a descent job or have any chance of having a normal life because they have a marijuana charge on there record for the rest of there lives for something that god put on this earth..i smoke pot and i don't go out and vandalize or steal for it. people need to stop worrying/controlling what people due unless it effects other people in the community which i agree that the harder drugs due...but being arrested or having to pay fines for a plant give me a break.

13suks...you are an idiot, black people get caught more cause they are stupid about it. Let's roll down Avenue D with are music pounding at 1 o'clock in the morning. Its no wonder why blacks are filling the jails. Dealers have no color; they are white black, hispanic, asian. Some people are just dumb about selling. When your down off of N. CLinton and you are selling on the corner, your bound to be caught then if your in your house on evergreen terrace in the burbs. Use your head idiot

i totallly agree with this. i know 7 of these people on here & they are not dealers, they are the users!!!! & instead of throwing the ones that are still using in jail, how about thinking about taking them to rehab and actually help these people that have problems instead of throwing them behind bars. i know a few of them finally admitted that they needed help, but the places they went to wouldnt help them, for example, my brother michael shay couldnt get into a rehab because he stopped doing them for 2 days but he knew he would go right back because he could not fullyy stop by himself. but he got right back to it for another 3 months. but he has now been clean from all drugs for 4 months!!

It's not really going to matter in the long run. Those were all small players so unless they are snitches you really haven't arrested anyone big, just a bunch of pot smokers & pill poppers.

I question the morals, intelligence and social responsibility of those who support the drug war. They THINK they are protecting the public but they are actually putting the public in danger.

Why do people think drugs can be controlled by arresting people? After doing it for a century things have gotten WORSE not BETTER. We must consider the effects of such foolish policies.

The drugs are going to STAY whether people like it or not. If arresting people deters drug dealers and users then why does our drug problem get worse every year?

It's simple; by outlawing drugs we are raising the profit margin for those who are willing to break the law, attracting MORE dealers, NOT FEWER!

People who are arrested for drugs are VICTIMS of a failed policy. In the future the police officers on the front-lines of this destructive drug war will be laughed at for their efforts.

Shame on Canandaigua police for wasting our time and money and ruining the lives of people who do not deserve it!
