Does anyone know what happened to Bill Drury, the postmaster at the Bloomfield P.O? I haven't seen him there for weeks and no one will say what happened to him or where he went. I always thought he was very friendly and did a terrific job. If he's been fired, I'd like to know about it--I would definitely write a letter on his behalf. Anyone?

It would be great if all concerned would write a letter to JoAnn Emerson on his behalf. You should let them know we are a small town and after 17 years of service it is not right for them to fire him for handing mail out over the counter to us. This is not New York. Here we all know each other. Thanks

You seem to know a lot about how it works. So how can we get Bill back? Isn't there someone named Engler or something like that where we could direct some protest? Bill Drury and his friendliness--which included handing me my mail--is one of the best things about this town.

Well Mary, If you feel that strongly about rules are rules what about Pam and the others the others that always handed out mail just like Bill then when State came in they looked at us like we were crazy and acted all innocent. Must be trying to cover themselves and blame all on Bill. This is not fair they were all GUILTY. I say Bill has been WRONGED by even his co-workers. We all need to help him now if anyone of you have any loyalty to our fellow citizens.

Then stick it back through your box, or put return to sender on them and put your flag up for the driver takes it back. It's not that hard people. THINK. For once in your lives, THINK. I like who we have now. They are very nice, always helpful. No need to bring Bill back.

Well, Laura, what's the matter with you? Think, think, think: what if one day you do something nice for someone at work and wind up losing your livlihood because of it? Bill Drury was "very nice, always helpful" too--and now he's out of a job because of it.

I'm going to go find an address to send protests.

Call all you want, it won't do any good. Your talking about the federal government. There has been issues in the past with them all handing out mail. I know that for a FACT! I'd bet there was a complaint made again by a mad divorcee or the like. I don't like that he got fired, hell it's done in small towns everywhere.

Think what? I run a small business, and the few workers who do work at my shop know the rules, and they don't break them. That's what an honest and trustworthy worker does. Bill is gone, and for what he has done, committing mail fraud, which is what he does when he gives out mail illegally, he won't get his job back.

What he done was against the law, he may have been giving the law your mail since he was so easy.

Many letters never made it home, I think the funny business was goin on.

This thread is a serious one. We don't need people like you trying to slander him. He held this position for 17 years and this was a lame excuse to fire him. Please go to a site that you may be wanted at, this one is not it shit starter.I think the others need to voluntarily tell their Postmaster that they all also handed out peoples mail to them or anyone that ask for it.

I was being serious, you know its against the law to give other people your mail.
So you think all should fall for him ? hey hey please fire me too, not gonna happen dummy.

If he done this for 17 years then he should have known the Federal Laws, Perry Mason told me that mail was being looked at by the cops.

He won't be coming back. That IS for sure. Next time he will think twice. Don't break the law. Breaking that law is consider mail fraud, and if they wanted, he could do serious time in jail/prison no matter if it was just handing YOU YOUR OWN mail. I'm glad he is outta there!

As bad as I hate to admit it your right. And I have the feeling you have an axe to grind over the issue.

If cops are looking at someones mail it's a safe bet that the individuals are involved in something illegal.

I haven't anything to hide in my mail. Maybe Perry Mason and fans do? Sometimes it's necessary, like the couple from Aquilla they were sending drugs through the mail and went to jail like they should have.

Does anybody REALLY know what happened or are you just starting rumors? Postal regulations allow mail to be handed out on a limited bases if the customer shows proper ID. Mr. Drury would not have been removed for handing out mail. Do you want to start more rumors now and start a petition and look like a fool? I agree he is a nice man but how well do you know him? It's pretty hard to be removed from the postal service.

Once again, your nerves are getting the better of you. There will be some fraught moments unless you can control your temper and not get drawn into verbal fisticuffs at the drop of a paper hat. It won't help if a partner is feeling neglected as that will give you something else to worry about. You need to relax and start enjoying yourself!
