Great story Agent of Chaos. excerpt: "Asked why the state would place people about whom the state has no information in such sensitive places as E-911, the Quonset airbase and DMV offices, the governor’s office provided this answer:“All vendors that the state contracts with must comply with federal and state laws, which include the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. In addition, the Governor’s Executive Order requires vendors to use E-Verify, another tool to confirm vendor employees are authorized to work in the United States.” It is not clear how suspected illegal immigrants slipped through, with access to keys to state buildings.(This is how URI spokeswoman Linda Acciardo said the university realized it had no-show janitors: the keys hadn’t been picked up by the overnight crew.) close: Clearly the round up is a good thing, and some folks need to be fired, IMO. The illegals having access to keys to rooms within state buildings, is a HOMELAND SECURITY ISSUE too!

Looks like there are some jobs waiting for some unemployed Rhode Islanders eager to start a career in janitorial science.

Looks like some employees may have to empty their own trash for awhile and scrubbing a few toilets. Surely they won't mind since some law breakers are hopefully going to jail, like the employers of these illegal workers.

When one is out of work and needs to pay the bills, what's wrong with a job like this? Or, perhaps many receiving welfare can go get the job...or face losing benefits. Either way, we do not ignore our laws so someone's toilet can get scrubbed. Get real.

Quote from article:"While there was no evidence yesterday that any of the no-show janitors provided by TriState and Falcon are in this country illegally, Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch deduced as much when one of two of the janitors in his own office stopped coming to work after the raid." I love how the Attorney General side stepped saying that they were "ILLEGAL ALIENS" employed by the companies. He knows the truth. I sum up the story like this: If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and has feathers, it damn sure is not a cat.

Oh really? it appears that Americans have been ignoring the law for some time so that their toilets can be scrubbed. And it appears that Americans have been shunning janitorial jobs for some time or else we wouldn't have a few million illegal immigrants working here today. Oh, yeah. I know what's coming. Pay janitors more money and Americans will get off the couch and clock in.

I wish Topix would add some new judging selections! But for now, I'm an employer using e-verify so don't bring your dirty documents to my businesses as I'll call ICE! bye bye

Just found this (the * are mine) http://www.projo.com/news/content/immigration... Woman who cleans AG’s office doesn’t show up after immigration raid The 32-year-old woman from Guatemala failed to show up for work Wednesday evening, one day after immigration officials arrested 31 suspected illegal immigrants working in the state’s courthouses. When investigators asked immigration officials to check the documents that the woman provided in April for employment, they learned that *her Social Security card and*“resident alien card” were *“evidently fraudulent,” said spokesman Michael J. Pay janitors more money and Americans will get off the couch and clock in. You are confusing Americans with the corrupt politicians who allow this. Americans do take the janitorial jobs when they are paid a living wage. The criminal illegal element don't need a living wage because they are subsidized by the American taxpayers and can afford to take such poor paying jobs. It astounds me that you make such ignorant posts.

Having to mandate English in an English speaking country sounds kind of nutty when you think about it, but I guess we better take all the cookies they'll throw us and be grateful for them. but just for right now.

You know many states have laws that require english as the state language. Mine does.

Not to mention the outrageous state(s) expense. I stopped judging others yesterday about 5, I was instead having a good time terrorizing others under other names. I've called in my own brigade who know how to take over with those who abuse the net. Don't know when the brigade will get here.....put out an SOS
