Dave Edwards, great article! Truly America is a great place to be today, unfortunately we are going in the wrong direction for our future generations. Current leadership only cares about today, there is no foresight for tomorrow. They (Obama and socialist Congress) only care about their legacy and social platform of socialism. We have seen this coming years ago through the election of the persons in Congress and the House. God Bless America! Oh, I forgot that wasn't politically correct to say anymore! But I will say it anyway!

True American need to stand up and be heard!

Not sure I love American any longer. I don't hate it, but I no longer think of America as the place to be if you're from another country and want to go somewhere where their is opportunity.

America is no longer land of the free, home of the brave either. Our masses have turned into whiners.

Lover America? Like America, probably, it's okay I guess.

Good stuff here. It seems a common notion is that America isn't what it used to be and isn't what it could be. It's going to take some dedication and work to get America off this socialist path. A good place to start: Come out to the Tea Party this morning in Dixon. It's at the intersection of "A" and 1st St in downtown Dixon at 10am to 11:30am. Come on! Let's get this party started!!

It's a sad state of affairs when our president is worried about what other countries are thinking of his country. Get used to it folks, he has done nothing to help us get through this and it appears that hiss latest antics have garaunteed our failure. Try to remember our good times because I'm afraid it's over.

Dear Friends
Thanks for your support for standing up for this Nation. We Republicans and Minuteman do love America as much as we love Apple Pie. This Nation was founded in a unique way, It wasn't founded like some kind of a Mexico which these Spanish people were the once who created Mexico. This Nation was founded by Enlightenment people who thought of a land that would be Sanctuary. The land of the free and the home of the braves. Since Obama’s inauguration, this n*gro president ruin the American Dream. This N*gro is spreading socialism towards this Country; he is giving free citizenship to these Illegal aliens. Hopefully for the 2012 Presidential election. We Republicans and Minuteman will take over Washington DC and once again restore the old American Dream. It's a shame though that we have a black president who came from the hood or perhaps the violent ghetto of Chicago. Hey, maybe we should play this song to him:
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
What’s next, Antonio Villaraigosa from Mexico will run for Presidential Election for 2012. These are the people who are killing the American Dream. These Darn Hippie democrats don’t care about America. They care about communism and socialism. We are the last true American people who are fighting to restore the American Dream. We were born in the United States and our Nationality is American. Our Political leader David Duke has been fighting for years to restore the American Nationality. This Country was not founded by a Black man or a Mexican. This Country was founded by a White Men. Our Founding Fathers were not black, they were white. Our leader Jim Gilchrist who stands up against these Illegal Mexicans and wetbacks will successfully restore the American Security in our borders. We will protect this Nation from illegal aliens and far left extremist group, no matter if we have to use violence to protect our nation and perhaps if possible imperialized that foreign nation. Now it’s time to say our honorable American Pledge.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands
one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Amen
And Make GOD bless America.
See, the racist card fits perfectly here. This guy, and the repunklicans he represents, are the reason it gets played at all. Please, do not consider yourself in any regard to a minuteman. They were blue collar (for those times), hard working men who stood for every person in their communities - not just the rich ones. A minuteman would have lent a hand to whomever needed it. You, sir, are nothing even close to that. And as far as the black thing goes, the North was free, and Thomas Jefferson wanted rights for blacks in HIS constitution- though there was compromise. You may find it interesting that it is widely believed a black man (former slave) was the first to take a shot at the Brits in Boston during the massacre, and the first to give his life for the cause. Hey, also, Paul Revere wasn't the one who rode around warning of the British - it was someone else, but his name couldn't be worked into a quaint little limerick, so Revere got the credit. You should learn a little about the birth of this country before you buy into your ridiculous "legend" stories. Idiot.

Yeah, back in 04 I moved the family back there. My step daughter's teacher said the curriculum was a little more advanced than what she'd been dealing with in CA. On the flipside, though, when we moved to Baltimore, she was the one who was advanced. Just depends where on the east coast - nothing good comes from Maryland - take that advice.

I certainly heard the north east was the best in performance, minus DC...on the EC.

Yeah, They are pretty good in the north east - seem to be more organized as well. Honestly, I think it's because they are actual brick and mortar schools, not trailers. Something just seems artificial with CA schools.

PSs. Real buildings for real people. California had superior schools at one time, but I can honestly say, not in Northern California. SoCal had required majors/minors and usually those fed right into the college system.....I don't don't think Sac State is a competitor of UC Davis for quality.

Ah, another one whose eyes are open to the tendency of those who like to sugar coat our nation's history. Kudos to you, good buddy.
By the way, to those who are wondering--no, I don't hate my country, and yes, sometimes the truth hurts.

I'll be graceful here and not respond to that question as I refuse to let anyone drag me into any uncivil exchange. Have a good day, my friend.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Taurus

It's important that you keep that famous bull-headedness in check over the next couple of weeks. Be cool, calm and sensible and you'll find that you end up with things correctly and tidily done. Stick to the straight and narrow, no matter what the distractions or irritations around you. If you think outside the square, you'll begin to see how visualisation can change and shape your life. Trust your hunches and be ready to move on them.
