Shots reported at NY school; adult in custody

Authorities are investigating a report of shots fired at a middle school in suburban New York.

I find this so ironic. Ordinary citizens cannot carry guns into schools, but a ex-NYC cop, no doubt retaining his previous police gun-carry privileges, walks in to a school with bad intent and is disarmed by a unarmed citizen? I surprised that the superintendent was not arrested for interfering with the duties of a EX-cop.
Just goes to show, that anyone from the government, or ex-government, has more rights than the citizens.
