Doctors are nothing more than legal drug vendors.

A Los Angeles Times investigation found that in nearly half of the accidental deaths from prescription drugs in four Southern California counties, the deceased had a doctor's prescription for at least one drug that caused or contributed to the death.

So, if you take it as intended, instead of taking the whole bottle at once! Alcohol kills, cars kill. What are you implying? I do agree that doctors do cater to the rich and give them more drugs than they need. But really, who cares? It's California!

For the most part, these drugs could be eliminated entirely and everyone would be better off.

The U.S. prohibition of drugs produces black markets and the associated crimes. Since doctors are also in the business, may as well legalize all drugs and empty our prisons.

There is no traditional prohibition of prescription drugs for pain. Doctors prescribe them liberally and rather indiscriminately. As I said, for the most part people do not need them and would be far better off without them. Doctors make addiction to these drugs far too common and easy. Prescribers should have to answer for the huge problem they are causing.

I have chronic pain and I see ONE doctor for that pain. I do not want marijuana for medicinal purposes I just do not want to take so many over the counter pills to help re leave the pain. Every time I go to the doctor I have to sign a paper that I will take my pills as recorded on my script and I also have to go to the doctor to ensure my disease is not progressing and I am on the right milligram ect. ect. I hope they will figure out a way to ensure that those who really NEED medicine can get it.
