Interesting to watch

This is going to be interesting to WATCH.

"North" meets "South". An Alaskan view of progression meets the dead-end washed up mentality of the deep South, i.e. Gulf Oil-Gas States, i.e. Texas, Louisiana.

Until oil and gas was explotiated starting from the 1950s, Farmington has had an influex with mis-matched characters, i.e "Clems", "Shems", "Bobby's", etc.

I am surprised a texan wasn't hired.

I thought the comment that he was hired because he had experience with Native Americans was interesting. Is that an admission that a certain race is problematic or posses certain problems that other races don't?

Do large cities like Houston, Atlanta, Detroit here their police chiefs based on their experience with blacks and then come out and say "We hired so and so because he has experience with blacks? I doubt it.

If one read the series of articles it looks like this hire is a good fit. Previous articles stated that the Navajo tribe had some input, in the selection process, which is good.

The funny part is the county anqd sheriff. Just recently they were complaining that they were complaining like children that they didn't get money from Federal Impact Aid for the SJC lands that are on the REZ. Yet in article after article they make it a point to say no tax money comes off the Rez to the county.

Aren't these payment in place of propriety taxes?

It makes every elected official look like a lying hypocrite.

Maybe our under qualified county treasurer can give us the hard numbers. But then again he has said the same things about the reservation citizens.

Hopefully the new FPD chief can be a good example on how to be a respectful human being to the SJC old boys club

Why is farmington worried about the Indians. They are not the proptery tax paying citizens of the county or Farmington city?

At least sheriff Ken Christensen has his priorities right by paying attention to the tax payers and the tea party who elected him.
