Just spit coffee on keyboard!

Those T1 and wireless boyz at Brainweed don't have gigabits anything into Farmington or anywhere.

Frickin Hilarious! Just try getting 10mbps out them that works.

Here is a real debriefing on the comedic Google results:

All the members of Farmington's "task force" and Bob Campbell really need to stop attempting to recruit industry. Obviously they don't know what they are doing and prepared an ill-advised effort with Google.

Maybe if Campbell would try to match Farmington's strengths with reasonable industry candidates, the results would be better.

Does anyone else wonder where the Bambi twins at SJEDS were in any of this? Isn't it time Margaret McDaniel and Eillen Shelton got a real performance review to see how much of our money is really be wasted?

And who really believes having a photo of a dog on a regional economic development website is professional? It really sends the message the area is not serious about big time industry, but rather the home business mentally where animals are often included in the marketing.

Not only was Farmington not the first community chosen by Google...it was not close to the top. Campbell's embellishments and lies about the process and the lack of results justify his being either demoted or fired.

The city needs to stop trolling with the likes of Advantas Internet Solutions, Brainstorm Internet, Comcast, FastTrack Communications and Qwest. They are not going to pony up the final distribution.

Mayor Tommy Roberts and state Rep. Tommie Taylor are more clueless than newborn chickens when it comes to how industry selection and operation works. We're in 2011, guys, not 1940.

Russ Elliott and Jim Davis have a lot ... a lot ...to gain if this broadband connectivity ever happens. Maybe if they stayed out of the process there would be more objectivity used?

I guess Greg Merrion, president of Merrion Oil and Gas, does not need to quit his day job. His "Google glasses" performance apparently didn't make a difference.

And after just a little research, it's interesting how the majority of the "You Tube" hits came from Merrion's and chamber of commerce computers.

Again, Merrion, most of the world - especially Google - did not think your comedy was nearly as funny as some of the local sophomores did.

Hmm … who are these negative haters responding to this article, they don’t even look like they are from our area? I guess with negative people no good deed goes unpunished especially on an anonymous posting site. As someone how has suffered for many years through the lack of good internet options in Farmington being held hostage by Qwest as well as being down for hours or days when some disgruntled employee decided to use our only cable out of the area for shot gun target practice (Black Friday) I think the fact that local officials and businesses are trying to increase our internet capacity both going out of our area and within our community should be applauded. In the past several years the local internet providers finally have given us much better high speed internet options and service as well as giving us more than one connection out of our region foiling Joe Shotgun’s future plans. I’m also really glad to hear that the City of Farmington is going to allow internet service providers to use their excess fiber capacity to connect the other towns, schools and businesses in the area. I heard awhile back that they have fiber strung through most of San Juan County but wouldn’t let anyone else use it. It has been shown that high capacity broadband availability has become one of the most important elements of economic development and growth because technology has become critical to businesses, so any public private partnerships that help our communities get access to Gig internet is critical. Many regions and cities around the country have utilized these types of partnerships to significantly expand broadband coverage and availability quickly and inexpensively so I applaud our local officials for getting on board. Who needs Google anyway? We can do it ourselves if we all work together

Excellent points, Sir. I am glad someone has the courage to call a spade a spade.

This whole Google affair illustrates how not to do a community effort. Perhaps we will learn from it.

There's lots of simple-minded people who think because it's done locally, it's right. Hold up a mirror to the City of Farmington, its staff and the majority of the task force members....see yourself?

Thank you Mr. Wilson for saying what many of us thought about this circus.

Or they did a little more research and found out that Farmington's leaders think 'Green' is stupid.
Thus recognizing that's what Farmington is.

If you google Google.... check out their position and ACTIONS regarding 'Green' principles. You will find they are ALL-IN!

I suppose many could argue that our Leaders are knowledgeable about long-term environmental, energy and related economic issues. But if you are not an insider, it appears their attitudes are simple minded, short term, and self-serving.

Big investments by smart companies usually are made with like-minded partners.

Yep, we make the best dang buggy whips without them dang "outsiders". Just look around folks...look at our city swimmin' pool, our baseball park, our mall...we don't need no more! We got more chinese and mexican eateries than any other town our size. We even got 12 used car lots! You want a loan, you got a loan at any of our 15 payday loan companies. Why hell, we got 3 Sonics, 3 McDonalds, and two Walmart supercenters. Google sure is the loser on this one.
