Good. Trial is over. Now they can send this little puke to the big house, and with any luck at all, he will be bashed in the back of the head,(COMPLETE WITH BRAIN SHOWING) when he isn't watching by a BIG fellow inmate, and we'll ALL live happily ever after!

HOW????? How could they NOT find him guilty of FIRST DEGREE MURDER??

Ok ... we have another trial coming.... Maybe that one will keep him in prison for the REST OF HIS LIFE!!

Wonder who he'll falsely claim "gay" in the next trial? What will be his sorry defense? Stay tuned.....

You're insane. Counseling isn't going to help this psycho nut. The only thing that will help him and society, is a bullet between the eyes.

Who CARES what dine vs dine does?? These aren't Navajo men! This didn't happen on the Reservation. This happened in REAL WORLD.

You just devalued your indignation and completely discredited yourself with this flagrantly racist and inhumane statement.

Typical Farmington racist.

Lucky for me then that I wasn't looking for any kind of "credit" or acceptance from you.

Noticed you didn't have anything at all to say about the original topic. What difference does it make what the laws are on the Reservation? We don't follow those laws. I guess you didn't know that either.
That's not racist. Like most reality isn't racist ....

Just as YOU are experiencing grief and anger, so do others in times of needless tragedy.....yes, even those you discount.

Life is to be cherished and valued, and not just for those you deem worthy.

Now maybe that isn't how you meant your post to sound; maybe through your emotions you misspoke.
Then who will provide

the counseling? There are non-DINE trying to get some medial (if any) mental health evaluation for mental health treatment. This is one reason why ALBQ gets the NEWS Broadcast to local and regional areas. This is prevelant across the country (and yes leads to another forum).

To get mental health treatment, SADLY, a person (non-DINE, non-Indian) has to break the LAW to get in - so again, where will this treatment come from? and who will get pushed back OR not receive mental health treatment?

To suggest (just sayin) a "Dine Medicine Man" is cure-all or fix-all is at best in accurate and mis-leading.

Be mindful of US Federal (political) system of indian health-care and public safety/criminal prosecution.

As a sign of times (post-1990s) and (post-2008), it is apparent, US Federal resources will not be around much longer to indian and Navajo services.

This means, we all could reading of Dine or Navajo trials occuring more frequently (off the reservation).

i applaud your ability to type Xando. your "COMMENTS" are generally less then amusing & ignorantly filled with double standards. in many instances past & present included, your insinuation of racism is misguided, infantile & pitiful. Xando do you know racism? or do you just read about it? this discussion began as justice for a murdered man, by a unsupervised, mental, loose cannon, ignorant excuse of dna. who was let loose on our community with no warning or protection by his adopted weak humans. i care little of the fate of this young idiot and i pray his family leaves our town when he does. bless all their hearts & KARMA. so Xando, i will pray you find humility and let your heart bleed for the son, brother, mate, uncle, doctor & friend who gave, loved, lived & invested in SJC. his name is Dr. James Nordstrom.

Absolutely! That's ALL this is about.

John Mayes HAD counseling. Apparently it didn't take.

Tell me Xando, HOW much counseling is enough? How many people do these psycho's get to kill before ....... what? MORE counseling?? This kid WAS a loose cannon. He WAS NOT supervised as he should have been. And what's more, his PARENTS should be put in jail right along side of him. Between their inability to parent, and encouraging their idiot son to lie during the whole trial, and them lying themselves on the stand, they need incarcerated as much as John does.

Sad how this doctor worked hard thru his young life, when it was time to retire and enjoy the remainder of his life in the comfort of his castle, this lil devil creeped in one way or another and snuffed it all out.

MissCheevious cites "his adopted and weak humans". I beg to differ. Rob Mayes is not a weak human. Rob Mayes is a strong and controlling personality. I suspect John Mayes homicidal behavior is an expression of being raised by a holier than thou, stronger than thou "man of god".

While I didn't originally write that post Barrel, I don't know that I disagree with it.

While Rob may be some kind of "strong" individual to YOU, he IS a weakling. He doesn't even have enough backbone (or "control") to protect the community, HIS COMMUNITY, from his psycho kid. He's a complete and worthless POS, as a man, husband, and father.
And he is certainly FAR, FAR, from being a man of God.

My point was that the "psycho kid" may be the product of " Psycho Rob's" value system.

I completely agree with the premise of this topic, but put aside YOUR double standard enough to see just who brought race into the discussion; that would not be me.

Oh, and I do not type Xando; I type XandO.

Maze, were you there? There are three sides to this MURDER. Dr. James Nordstrom's, his & the truth. Sadly, Dr. Nordstrom did not live to tell his tale. The murderer was not honest from the get go. I was not there, so my opinion is based on what the murderer left behind. Knowing this and that the best defense appeared to be denial, dissatisfaction, lousy childhood and neglectful, odd adoptive parents. In my opinion the murderer had several choices but instead chose to brutally murder, steal, lie and bury in Dr. Nordstrom with no regard. this murderer deserves what punishment he recieves. p. s. Maze, dude. invest in a dictionary or spell check. or not.
