Student: Conn. class forced to re-enact slavery
Middle school-aged students from Connecticut on a field trip last year were forced to re-enact slavery by pretending to be sold at auction and in fields picking cotton, according to a student's complaint.

"Playing the role of an oppressed person......can be traumatic."
Well..........if "playing the role" can be traumatic, imagine how "traumatic" it would be to LIVE it.
I do agree that children, without parental consent, should not have been drawn into the "play acting," but we should never forget that shameful period of American history.
