Not to worry, poor people of Farmington. A few of the wealthy can create pretentious fundraisers or let people pay to look at their homes. Then they can help out the ever increasing poor in this town.

The reason businesses don't take up residence in NM is that they are burdened with fees and high taxes---not power outages (of which Farmington has few).

Three wealthy people get to decide how to sock it to the poor.

Farmington is poor, rich people!!

average utility bill of $50.00 ??? I would love a bill that low. Rates will increase $1.00 a month for 36 months if you have a $50.00 bill making it $86.00 in 3 years. If your bill is higher than $50.00, say $100.00 then after the hikes it will be 172.00. By then I am sure the power cost adjustment that goes up every month will have increased 75% also.

maybe they can roll this into obamacare since it's going to end up feeling like a proctological exam with them reaching that deep in your pocket.

The single biggest unknown in my electric bill is the power cost adjustment, which is the result of FEUS buying electricity on the market at the exact moment when electricity is at the highest price. Because FEUS cannot meet the demand at the moment.

If the rate increase will go towards eliminating the need to buy market electricity then I'm for it. Otherwise, it is pointless.

go solar or wind, don't you realize the rez is a seperate sovereign country ? If you want wires strung, petition YOUR government. US businesses (utilities included) try to upgrade the rez but tribal government makes sure it takes 10-20 years to go thru tribal red tape and usually get turned down. Live with it, you built the problem, apply for foreign aid like kenya that obama promised 4 billion to build electricity delivery infrastructure and contract the UN to string some wire up to every hogan on the rez.
