Article in the DT about the meeting between CCSD and Gallup-McKinley school districts reported their failure to come to an agreement on the busing of students living near Naschitti.
Go to the Navajo Times to find a more in-depth account of the discussion and how board members voted. What an embarrassment Matthew Tso and Christina Aspaas are to the district.
Now the matter will be decided by the PED because Tso, supported by Aspaas are full of hot air. Central Consolidated is the laughing stock of the state.

Guess my mindset is similar to Manning's (yikes!) in that why do parents in Naschitti want to send their kids to Tohatchi when they have two CCSD schools right in their back yards?

Hey, I live near f-town but want to send my kids to Gallup schools. I want an MOA for Gallup to send a bus or provide me feeder route money.

CCSD administration should be more concerned about why parents are dissatisfied with the district than about Gallup-McKinley making it safer for kids to cross district boundaries to attend schools in Tohatchi. If the article in the Navajo Times is accurate, it's obvious that Tso and his henchmen don't care much about what parents think, they just want to make it difficult for them to take their kids out of CCSD regardless of what might be best for the students.
Tso has turned out to be a bully, and the superintendent with which he conspires has shown they are more concerned about their own power and control than they are about the needs of their constituents. It's up to the PED now. Read the article in the Navajo Times--it's rather enlightening.

Just where did this long standing preference of some parents to not send their children to the local school?

All I heard out of that area during the "Manning Years" was how the area was completely forgotten, and the schools were poor and inadequate. From what I understand CCSD is trying to build a new school and is moving out the poor teachers who in the past were sent there to get out of the way in place of being fired as they should have. Gallup district got sucked in to the politics of the NEA with this one by trying to be nice, and also get some extra funding for the extra students.

The school administrators from both districts should have got together a bit more and worked on proposing a number of workable solutions before this meeting. Instead of what happened.

If the rumors on the street hold any validity, Levinski and several administrators are going to have more than just worrying about losing students to Gallup to deal with.

Maybe you could inform us which one of the dozen or so rumors emanating from the street you are referencing?

Or is just one you are making up.

Politics of NEA? Isn't Gallup AFT area? You sound a little paranoid, to say the least. Again, that NEA must be doing something right to get you so worked up.

This story is as dead as the NEA's and Manning's chances of being relevant. Ewa Krackpot and the NEA should get out of CCSD and go to a poor performing pro-union failed school district and bring their schools down. CCSD doesnt need anymore bad teachers who are hell bent on giving our children a bad education.

Levinski and the board should have fired all the bad teachers at Mesa Elementary and wiped out whats left of the NEA. Gallup McKinley has lits of bad teachers and F schools so Ewa Krackpot and Mel Sharp would fit right in.

Not nearly as paranoid as Kirtland.

Wouldn't the local NEA and Kirtland "old school " leadership messing up your kids and grand kids education bother you?

Too bad there isn't an judging icon for "desperate" 'cause you sure are. Apparently this is the best you can do in the forum discussion. Pretty sad, really.

Ouch! Little hostile aren't we? But again you prove my point. These people must be doing something right to get you so desperately lashing out. And obviously relevant enough.

Seriously, the union and AFT has a big stranglehold on Gallup McKINLEY and the present superintendent Chiapett owes his position to the AFT. After all, the AFT union president was/is a teacher at his school: Miyamura. the CCSD NEA is as stupid and blind as their sole champion on the board Hoskie Benally, and most of CCSD's NEA burnouts and rejects are infiltrating Farmington, Bloomfield, and Aztec school districts.

Info from Kirk Carpenter and a few members of their board indicates that they have buyers remorse and that they should have never allowed the NEA to come in. Carpenter has even suggested de-certifying the AZtec NEA...... CCSD should also do the same.

teachers unions only serve to protect and enrich the worst teachers and pay them extremely well to give children a bad education.

That's a pretty typical sentiment for management when unions do their job. Usually the same management is the best union recruiter. And fortunately for employees, it does not matter how many thoughts they have. It is not up to them if there is a union or not.
CCSD Bad Teachers

Been in CCSD for a few years now and pretty appalled by how the teachers' union protect some of the worst and most incompetent teachers I've ever worked with, who refuse to be held accountable or refuse to give children a great education. Not surprisingly, the NEA leadership are some of the worst performing teachers who brought down test scores and their schools. So glad Levinski and the Board are leading the charge to turn this district and schools around after many years of being rundown.

Apparently the NEA is defending a horrible teacher who literally committed child abuse and false imprisonment upon a SHS student and refused to let the student use the bathroom, causing that student to pee on themself in class in front of other students. The present NEA leadership are a bunch of sickos who need to be fired for defending child abusers like that teacher.

There is nothing right about the NEA. UNless you include giving children a bad education "right" or defending bad teachers who abuse children. id rather see my union dues spent on activities that actually benefit children and making a difference.......

Ewa Krackpotska needs to serve prison time for defending teachers who abuse and harm children as well as for giving her students a bad education. The same goes for Mel Sharp and the entire NEA/AFT leadership. The state and CCSD needs to conduct a study of teachers union leaders and their performance and effectiveness as teachers. Effective and high performing teachers should be rewarded and bad teachers fired.

Interesting story in the Daily times that should shut up idiots and buffoons like Ewa Krackpot, Randy Manning, Hoksie Benally, Mel Sharp..... Etc. Parents are voting with their feet and sending their kids back to CCSD in droves!!! All of CCSD's rejects and bad teachers who couldn't cut it in CCSD left for Famington, Bloomfield, and Aztec schools. Can't wait to see this year's test scores and school report cards, especailly after CCSD's NEA idiot burnouts and rejects cause their test score and school report cards to drop.:)

Story link: http://www.daily-times.com/four_corners-news/...

Great Job Levinski, Tso, Lupita White, Aspaas, etc for taking out the Manning/NEA/Hoskie Benally trash and turning our schools and district around. Keep up the good work and for standing up for our children!

All the Mannings, NEA, and Hoskie Benally do is stand up for stealing from our children, and employing/defending bad teachers who abuse children and give our children a bad education. SHAME ON THEM!!!

Actually once Whammer Jammers protegeny left CCSD the scores have to go nowhere but up.

The school board over the past two years have done a great job of steering the school district and the education of the students in the right direction. By putting in a superintendent who expects and demands results.

CCSD has for years been hog tied by selfish special interest groups. It doesn't matter if it was the inept teachers union, the Mannings Kirtland leadership, or those in Shiprock. All three have tried and have failed, many times in their responsibility.

This just shows what happens when highly qualified professionals are put into the right positions. And not someone due to their family name or connections, which has happened for years around here.
