Missy Jenkins at missyjenkins.com was paralyzed from the chest down in the 1997 Paducah school shooting that left three teens dead. Her book "I Choose to be Happy" is being used and recommended by schools across the nation today, and was recently endorsed by the Kentucky Department of Education. Until school cultures change, nothing will change.

So sad. I have two little ones and the worse news a parent could hear is that something horrible happened to her child. Thank God this did not end the way these kids planned.

I hope that law enforcement is ready for a shooting because it is only a matter of time before it happens. They and us as parents need to be prepared when it does occur I would encourage all parents to talk to local law enforecement and see what they can do to be prepared.

I'm not surprised! As it is a lot of people in the Four Corners area are stockpiling on guns. That's probably where they got their guns from. I don't know why people are so scared to be loading up on guns & ammos.

Possibly, the only thing worse than finding out that something horrible had happened to one's child, would be finding out that your child was the one responsible for planning or carring out the terrible deed.

...but these are kids that have not been in trouble. They would never harm an ant or other people. They are nice and innocent young "boys"...HAHA! shows how much parenting folks do these days.

"I'm not surprised! As it is a lot of people in the Four Corners area are stockpiling on guns. That's probably where they got their guns from. I don't know why people are so scared to be loading up on guns & ammos."
Their reason is Obama will either hike the taxes up so on ammo or try to take away the second amendment.

It's not just the school cultures, but our society in general. Drugs and alcohol amplifying the already bad situation are probably the biggest factor, when a shooting occurs. The underlying problem is we have many angry people, who go and ruin other peoples lives since their lives/situation are not what they wanted it be... To educate children, it varies from location to location...

For your info one of them is not WHITE and I'm not sure about the other. Why does it matter what color you are? No, I'm not by any means defending these two but I'm guessing you must have issues with people who are white. Know your information before you put it out there!

San Juan County Citizens, should be proud of their
well organized efficient Sheriff's Department, most
New Mexico Counties are not this fortunate.

This would never happen in my Rio Arriba County
