Blank, he had a neck tattoo and threatened to do this nine years ago.
Why did't her family or his family do something? Why didn't the courts do something other then a bull dung 364 days of probation? Why didn't neighbours or friends do something. Why has everyone in the Four Corners allowed this kinda stuff to happen?
The deceased is not the victim, nor her kin. The parents and family of the perp should not grieve but be riddled with guilt. The victims of this are the 3 kids. If anyone cries at the perps' funeral, other then the 3 kids, it will be shameful.
My hopes and support goes out to the abuela that has the kids.
Speaking of funerals, have they pulled the plug yet?

It's the guys fault for doing the act and the girls fault for not doing something. You only have yourself to blame!

Well no suprise that he tried taking the easy way out. If he's on life support pull the plug we don't need to pay his medical bills or reconstuctive surgery so he can now get forced to have sex in prison. To both families my deepest condolences may God bless you ALL.

Another predator that our disfunctional courts have failed to shield society from! This savage animal has terrorized the mother of his children for years, and now murdered her, orphaning three innocent little girls. Then, instead of taking responsibility for his actions and turning himself in, he tries to off himself, botches it, and now will end up costing society tens of thousands of dollars in medical costs. Hopefully, if he survives, the state will do the right thing and put him to death!

I don't want another penny of our taxes to go towards keeping him on life support.
He gets more consideration than we do.

Let him die and save the taxpayers all the time and money in court cost and prison expenses.

Low life scum like this are only doing us a favor by killing themselves.

Didn't you guys hear? We don't do the death penalty in NM anymore because we're "awesome". Whatever he has to go through while he's still here on earth will be nothing compared to his eternity... way to think it through dude. I pray that this young lady is sitting in heaven and that the families are comforted. My heart breaks for those little girls. I couldn't imagine what it would do to a child to lose your mother so tragically at such a young age.

Why did Kristin stay in this relationship? She should have walked away nine years ago! She knew it was abusive and dangerous. I'm sure her mother tried to get her to leave this relationship. Kristin is as responsible as Manuel for the situation her children find themselves in. Why did she continue to bring babies into this situation. Why do we, the taxpayers continue to support these women in producing children. If you cannot be responsible for your own pregnancy and resulting child, then you should have to have your tubes tied and the man should have to have a vasectomy after one child at the taxpayers expense. Why are we trying to save someone who does not want to be here and has judged his own actions? Pull the plug and let him go.

He should have been given a much stiffer sentence for the 2000 incident, and she should have been given much more protection. If he had a history, why didn't she leave? I hope he pulls through the suicide attempt so he can stand trial for taking away his kids' mother.

Abuse is abuse whether physical or mental. Bein in an abusive relationship is hard to get away from. She probably had many excuses on why she didn't leave him right away. He probably broke her down to bring her up. If you have never been in an abusive relationship you can not talk about what she shoulda woulda coulda done! Pray for the kids in this situation. No kid deserves to lose thier parents. They are now orphans in this world and will grow up remembering that thier father killed thier mother. Very sad.

Thank you! You said exactly what I was thinking! It is so easy to hand out advice and opinions until you are actually in the situation.
Abusive partners follow a vicious cycle. They make the other partner feel as if it is their fault that they are being abused and then guilty if they try to leave. The abused develops co-dependence with this person and their feelings are put to the side.
In addition, abused partners are often made to feel and believe that they cannot make it without the other partner. They feel dependent on them and put up with horrible treatment because they don't know what else they can do. Unless you have been there, judgement of the abused is not reasonable.

My prayers go to her family and children. Those of you who have never been an abusive relationship don't know what's like to try and leave, so don't go askin why she didn't try because she probably did...probably several times. It hurts to hear how some of you think this was her fault. It's not!! And probation wasn't enough, they should've put him in jail! Luckily, I was one of the few who survived domestic violence.
