Please don't say incredibly stupid things like this. You only reinforce the drive to drive away gun ownership. You and Ted are your own worst enemy. Or, it's your intent to do just that?

I guess I should be flattered that you think that something I post on Topix would actually influence the outcome of any gun control issue. Let me bask in that fantasy for a minute.

But has anyone ever told you to not take everything so seriously and that you need to laugh once in a while?

I do not own, possess, or harbor guns in my home, vehicle, or anywhere period. I strictly abide by governmental oversight and their impending restrictions.

And is governmental oversight causing anyone you know to restrict or reduce their personal arsenals?

What impending government restrictions do you have in mind?

Did you know that gun laws have actually been relaxed under the Obama administration?

Some basic safety tips for drinking, driving and shooting:

1) to avoid accidentally shooting thru the roof your truck, hold the gun in your left hand outside the window, hold the bottle of booze in your right hand, and steer with your knees

2) to avoid accidental spillage, put your drink in a secure location before taking a selfie picture with your cell phone

3) protect your beer keg by safely securing it with a seat belt

4) distracted drinking and driving is dangerous, so consider using a designated shooter

5) when using the muzzle blast to light fireworks, make sure your fingers are along the side of the barrel and not over the muzzle

6) to avoid road rage, be courteous to other drivers who are drinking and shooting

Not involved. Its best whenever communicating, especially by electronic means that proper utilization and safeguards are implemented.

I still don't get why we will not be able to go shooting in 2014.

Last night was pretty civil in my area. For the first time I can remember, I only heard one series of gun shots (10+ round mag) - around 10:30pm, by a severely time challenged individual no doubt.

I only had to call in two people last night. It was more peaceful than most years.

Probably celebrating East Coast time. Or obeyed the warning not to be caught shooting in 2014. 2013 was the old year and safe to shoot in. Clever.

You will be unable to shoot in 2014 because, according to the paranoid tea-baggers and other extreme-right factions, President Obama will confiscate all of our guns in preparation for the Muslim invasion and conquering of America.

What is more likely to happen is that the paranoid tea-baggers and other extreme-right factions will once again work themselves up into a panic, stock up on guns, and buy all the ammunition so that there will be no ammo available for people like you and I to go shooting with.

Just like any other night here, no gun fire, fireworks, loud music. We don't put up with kind of stuff. Downtown had a number of events that is great for families.

Nice use of a joke for a spring board. Must have had that in the can for a year. I eschew guns and ammo. And Whiskey. Gold is about the only paranoid thing I like.

If you allow fireworks, then people will want to have sex while standing up, and we all know what that leads to...dancing. It is reassuring to know that Oklahoma still has a high bar for morality.

That would be the old vertical expression of a horizontal desire.
