That is just too bad. I feel for the guy. From what I read, he was just trying to get everyone to stop fighting. Now, shooting a gun at the crowd was probably not the best decision but im sure that he had no intention on shooting anyone. Let alone, his own brother. I hope he does not get sentenced to the 39 years. My thoughts are with him and his family.

This is truly a horrible situation for the young man involved, his deseased brother, family and friends but, if they drove from Blanco to the party to drink and supposedly have fun, why did they have a shotgun in their car that this young man obviously had access to? When I go out for an evening of fun or enjoyment to be with friends my shotgun doesn't hop in the car and ride along. What sort of life are you living if you feel the need to have a shotgun or any kind of weapon in your possession wherever you go?

That is a good point to make, but I think that it is besides the point. The fact is that, yes he sould not have been shooting a gun to try to stop the fight, but he did not intentionly shoot his brother. He should not be sentenced to 39 years for an accendental shooting. He is being punished enough by the guilt I'm sure he is feeling for the death of his brother. I can understand being charge with all those other charges but not the murder.
