The biggest problem I have with the show and the sting operation is that if it weren't for the decoys and coercion in luring the men to come to the house many of these men might not have ever done this in their whole life. All this show did was put many people in jail who MIGHT not have committed a crime in their life. The fact that the show is creating the crime is the biggest problem. Sure they may have put some people who would have offended another time away, but many of the people who appear on the show were tricked into coming to the house. There's no way to know whether anything would have happened or not. Is it not possible that a man could potentially show up out of curiosity and leave? Dateline NBC could have put many people in jail who would have committed no crime.

To catch a predator is like professional workers acting like kids playing army in a playground where as they unprofessionally use some stupid house to luir those guys so they can humiliate them before banding their lives miserably which couldn't get any worst and that's what they call justice which is a typical form of justice that I call bullshit instead, or... typical form of justice I can call it too lol. Lol, dateline NBC have no clue but they are real trolls lol wow! They mindlessly think they do teh Juzdis! I'm not impressed.

I don't think what the show's intent is wrong at all. I think the way they go about certain things is wrong.

First of all, for the people who said, it's not ethical to lure someone into coming to a house and so on, it is completely ethical. Especially since now the police assist them. That is the way police go about it on their own, afterall.

However, I don't think they need to set them up for humiliation by Chris telling them, "you're free to walk out that door" just to have the cops get all up in their face. I think it'd be better if the cops came in calmly while Chris was talking and told the guy that he's under arrest. And have backup cops outside in case the guy actually runs.

They ARE still people, and they have feelings, it's just that they have a mental sickness. Like Sandusky, that dude needs help, and will probably have some form of counseling, even while in prison, before he innevitably dies in prison.

I hate predators but I do not think it is right to purposely get them to come to a house so you can arrest them on tv.

Humiliating them in front of the world is even worse. This is the shittiest show in television. Just because a guy goes to a house, thinking he's gonna meet up with a minor doesn't mean he's a predator. He gets caught before he does anything. Some of those men have admitted their curiosity but may have never went far. But it was too late to find out. I thought enticement was illegal and it should be. There are many things about the human mind we don't understand and shouldn't condemn people for our ignorance. I understand removing people from the streets that literally harm others but these guys never actually did anything to harm anyone. Hell, one night a perfectly normal guy, bored out his ass could have happened to go on a chatroom, not knowing about child molestors, and happened to start talking with some girl(dateline) and the conversation carried through. A majority of all men in this world love young teen size girls. David Hamilton proved that years ago. I understand if some guy comes to a house to meet up with a 10 year old. But to meet up with a teen isn't a crime. The media has a lot of insecure people believing that nonsense and the law is screwed up because of it. I say wipe off the records of sex offenders who did nothing more than have consenting sex with a teen.
That is so true! Also what i think is wrong is how the decoys are older than 18 and so is the people in the house are actors and older than 18 as well. so who is the victim that is the minor here NONE! so how can they be a CHILD molester if there talking to an 18 year old. you cant be arrested for intenting to molest a minor when there arnt any minors just 18 years olds. So faked

When I first saw this show I was insecurely pretending to think that this was the right thing to do, but the funny thing was deep inside I was actually thinking, "Seriously? WTF!! So this is what real justice is really about?" And yeah like for real, that's fucking isolation. That nonsense isn't even real.

Okay sure, use their low IQ to make them look like a bad guy, humiliate them on TV before they get tackled and arrested and taken to jail for all their lives. Guy's that's how you do Justice. Rofl!!!

When I first seen an episode of To Catch a Predator, all I noticed was a random guy walking into a house getting humiliated, treated like a slow processing child on TV getting fooled he was free to go till he unfortunately was awkwardly tackled and arrested and thrown away to jail for 7 years only for going to meat up with a 13 year old girl. In my own mind I was thinking Seriously? "WTF isn't that shit just isolation right there???" Like Jeasus Christ I did not know that this is the way justice works in our society. It seemed so fake and immature how they ACTUALLY do this kinda shit! I couldn't even believe it. I'm not one of those creeps but to see how cruel that show is even made me feel like I was a creep how offended I was watching it and felt like such a loser like wtf, it's immature American fucktarded wanna be badass bullshit as a way of justice in society. It's like they all think it's actually the right thing. Wow seriously?

Why is it that all these so called "pedofiles" happen to be men. There are definently women out there who would do the exact same things to a younger man. Why is it that this sorry excuse for a show hasn't any female "predators", and seems to put it in our children's mind that women are not a danger at all to them, and that only men are "predators" who are being led on by men/women of the same age presenting themselves as young men/women which sounds to me as a perverted thing to do in the first place. The show is not only border lining entrapment it's a sexist, cruel, and yes indeed undermining shit on NBC. Made Just so the sorry cock of a host can load his pockets.

We never said bait car wasn't a fair comparison. In fact that would be a logical comparison, and I don't think you are actually observing the complete picture here. We are not saying it is right for an older man to have intentions to lay with a young girl. We are saying that it isn't right for that older man to be enticed by another older man posing as a young girl for sex. The conversations take weeks sometimes months to end all just to frame a lonesome guy as a child molester. It's just not right.

I will admit that I am somewhat tired of the show, but if it keeps a predator away from my daughter, then kudos. Maybe it's entrapment, maybe not. What man should be allowed to pursue a young girl though? I don't care how fast girls are maturing physically...they still shouldn't be at fault if a man is pursuing them because of their age. We wouldn't be having half of the problems we currently do if people still had morals. People of all ages are just trying to 'hook up' due to it's glorification on tv and throughout other media. Parents need to keep a closer eye on their children if they are concerned about it, and punish them for inappropriate behavior. Adults that pursue children, whether they 'know' they are children should be punished for their crimes.
Hi, this show doesn't stop predators from going after your daughter. Not trying to scare you, but it's truth b/c predators are now getting arrested ON the show that have SEEN the show. They admit seeing the show does not stop them. I have mixed feelings about this. Latin countries are more lax when you can have sex with a teen. New Zealand is also lax. USA, just under 100 years ago you could marry a very young girl going through puberty. I might sound sick for stating these facts, but their bodies have matured like animals... then we go psychological about what they can handle mentally. We're human and we make our own rules, but it wasn't always that way even in the USA. Big Balls of Fire married his own cousin whom was a very young teen within the last 60 years or so.

Why am I ranting about this? The show disgusts me. I'd like to think it helps, but it doesn't stop any predators. It makes me think of how many people watch this for entertainment to feel better about themselves to throw rotten tomatoes before they hit the guillotine. A lot of these guys on the show are bad, but some.... would probably back out of the deed, but we will never know.... because it's all entrapment.

Also, there are some guys that turn 19 and date a 16 year old. They are considered a pedofile too. I don't think it's right.... they are most likely going to the same high school together.

I couldn't agree with you more. I don't care about pedophiles, and neither should anyone else; they are subhuman garbage.
