How does it sound to have an 18 year old wearing a badge, carrying a gun and driving a patrol car?

Well that is the latest in foul ups at the good old Sheriff's Office.

Imagine a person stopping and arresting you for a DUI and he can't even buy a beer or legally own a hand gun for 3 more years!

Old boys Jimmy and Phillip really over did themselves this time. Now who thinks Phillip Law would be a fine new Sheriff? We all know Jimmy has been in the seat way too long and is physically unfit for the job. Now with his latest escapade he proves himself to be mentally unfit as well.

Just the truth folks, just the truth.

When someone is not able to perform their duties on a job they normally take medical leave or retire. I would hate for an 18 year old to be hurt trying to enforce the law with some of the bad criminals on the street and expecially with the ones that have the bad guns that can not shoot straight.

I hope the 18 year old will be able to stay in the patrol car with another deputy. Pink looks nice on guys.

Did he take Richard's job or is Richard back on patrol? People need to complain about things like this on a higher level or call WALB.

Some of these people in public offices have been getting away with stuff like this way too long.

Does he have some kind of political clout in his family?

Such an underaged person could be a real libiality for the tax payers of the county if he is involved in a shooting or similar. He is not old enough to buy a handgun and yet the dapartment issued him one.

Oppinionated one wrote on another post, and I copied it here for you = uh oh, here i go, with another little something to think about. let's say i'm a forty year old beer drinker. how much respect will a forty yr old drunk give an eighteen yr. old punk ? while we are on this, can a child even get accepted to the police academy, hell even "barney" could carry a gun, only 1 bullet, but he could still carry it. at 18 yrs. old what will a deputy do "chunk rocks" at us ? who is a child "connected" to, that he can enforce what he don't even know ? just another opinion by, yous truly. y'all have a blessed day now ya' hear ..........

Has he already been to the academy? Maybe he is not a deputy yet. I don't know the process.

It takes them a long time to get to the bottom of something it seems. I guess the GBI is thorough, if they are indeed doing it as I heard.

The first time I met Richard I thought he had a negative attitude. Deputies should help innocent victims.

Maybe they need a full blown investigation.

Come on you know in this county it is a handful that controlls all. Nothing will ever come of this , yet another screw up by good old Jimmy Boy. Hand picked Phillip went along on the coat tails of the Sheriff like he always has.
