I see this thread dates back to 2011. I am in need of a new heat/air system and wondering who to go with. Please no bashing, just give me recommendations from your personal experience.
My personal experience with BOTH Byers and Mikes... Byers is a hypocrite ripoff artist purporting to be such a devout Christian principled guy. I have outrageous e-mails from the jerk to prove it, too. Mikes gives the best price and is HONEST about what needs doing based on three different friends/relatives I have talked to in the past year that used them.

Good luck with whoever you choose.

Mark Griggs aka Marx Mechanical. He's an honest man and does a great job at a good price.

I've tried every heating & air firm in the tri-county area. For the past dozen years I've used Mike's Heating & Air in Blairsville. They are honest, licensed, trained and know what they are doing. They have an actual office with staff and don't operate out of their garage or truck like many yahoos in this area. If you are looking for cheap, you will get what you pay for. If you want it done right, call Mike's. They are even on call on weekends.

Mark Griggs is the best and he is the most reasonably priced. He will come check you out, and alot of time won't even charge, if it's something he cannot fix. He is local and honest, and he does really great work.

Finding reliable service people in this area has never been easy. I've used Mike's Heating & Air in Blairsville for at least the past 15 years and they've been quite honest and fair with me. Cory & Mike, Jr. usually come out to my house and both are quite knowledgeable about their craft, and always show me what the problem is. I have a rather old AC unit but they keep it going, and have not pressured me to buy a new one, though I realize it won't last forever.

Others in the area operate out of their car or garage, which should trigger some alarms. Some are not even licensed. Mike's has an office & warehouse, a fleet of work vehicles and a very friendly staff. He did not acquire these things by being dishonest.

If you are looking for "cheap", you have plenty of options available to you.

STEWART HEATING AND AIR ARE A BUNCH OF THIEVES, AND NOT VERY BRIGHT EITHER. ALL THE TECHS ARE TOTAL STONERS. THEY CAME TO MY HOME ON A SERVICE CALL BOTH REAKING OF DOPE, AND WERE CLEARLY HIGH. NOR DID THEY FIX THE PROBLEM. NICE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS, AVOID AT ALL COST.
I have seen on topix that he does all county jobs without bids

So true !

I used to use Ron Byers until he got arrested; and then Stewarts, who could do nothing but mumble and try and sell me a new air conditioner. A friend from church suggested I call Mike's Heating/Air.. They were prompt, polite and professional and fixed my unit. I have a service contract with them (my insistence) and I'm happy I did. I've stopped by their office a couple times and the ladies in the office there were quite pleasant and delivered excellent customer service, unlike a lot of contractors in our area.

Its a professional outfit, unlike many of the local yahoos that operate out of their garage or have their Mama act as their receptionist.

My AC just broke, and I'm wondering if the heater will work. Do both the heater and AC coincide with one another, or are they completely unrelated as far as the wires are concerned? I need to get my system fixed before it starts getting chilly. http://www.hixonheatingandair.com/about-us/

Watch out for Mike's son, he's a thief. Neither father or son cooperated with ucso investigators.

This summer has already started out strong. I can't afford to go without my air conditioner because my house is already an oven. However, I'm a bit worried that my air conditioner is going to go out soon. It has been working as efficiently and I need to get it checked. Any suggestions? http://www.hotandcoldshop.com.au

Mike's Heating & Air, without a doubt. He's licensed in multiple states. I know he does work in TN & NC as well. A lot of H&A guys around here are not licensed nor are the workers trained.
