a friend told me to take my car to your shop for my repair on my ranger truck and you worked on my truck telling me all the things that needed to be repaired and when the repairs were done they came to be higher than you quoted me and then you expected me to come up with all that extra money above the original cost you gave me and when I couldn't get up the money fast enough you put a mechanics lein on my truck and kept it to sell. Times are hard you could have worked with me.By the way what goes around comes around Jim. I also no longer have my friend thanks to you

He even steals from the dead. I had a good friend whose husband committed suicide. This thief went into her garage and stole tools belonging to the dead husband.

He's even worse to his "friends". I guess that he believes they will not question his bill, but sooner or later they will find out the truth.

Do you have the original price quote on paper?Or was anyone there with you that heard the conversation? If so looks like you could get your truck back.I hate to get a quote for one price then have to pay alot more!

I just have to put my two cents into this because I work in this business. Time and time again I see people who think that an estimate for auto repairs should be a firm quote. Not so. An estimate is just that, an ESTIMATE. A mechanic who works on your car, most times, has no idea what he is going to find during the disassembly and repair process. It would amaze you at how poorly people, in general, maintain their cars, then want to cry about it when the car breaks and it's going to be a big bill to fix it. I try to be up front with my customers and tell them what a worst case scenario will cost before I begin repairs. And I document with notes and photos all the work I do. I like to have informed customers. It's too bad that there are a lot of mechanics who want to keep it all secret and act like they're the voodoo witch doctor. They make it bad for the guys like me who want to do it right the first time and want their customers to understand what goes into repairing their car.
As for Jim putting a lien on the truck, that sucks. I try to work with my customers because I know times are hard. Not saying I won't utilize a mechanics lien, I will if the situation warrents it. But most of the time the lien is not needed. That is the last option, not the first. I mean, how do you develop a good rep if you are just out there taking people's cars and ripping people off. I don't operate that way.

You know I was a friend of his but not no more as he had a air about him that he was better than me and he was quite a bragger about what he owns and he did take advantage of me on my antique car repairs it appears that he is more interested in making money and putting the screws to his friends as well as what he did to his x-wife and children than doing what was right by people. I never saw anyone as unhappy as Jim. He had a nice shop on Gainesville Hwy a nice home a beautiful friendly out going wife and two wonderful kids that you hardly ever seen him with. Now all he has is his lonely empty life and another shop. Appears he has made alot of people mad. I don't understand him.

Some facts if your car has been sitting that long needing repair and butterflies are in the tranny then maybe you better look under the hood as some mouse family might have moved in.By the way these guys who own ADHD know their kustom stuff they worked for ground to graphics in Murphy and you bet they can stut their best graphic designs and paint jobs keep your eyes open for their designs around town. They can also weld chop channel and do auto repair. A one stop shop under one roof. You need to check em out on face book.Just wanna make sure you know all the facts and not just pfarting smoke out your exhaust.Their name is unique and they have the humor to go with it. No rude no it alls at this shop. Come by and chat with the guys maybe they can show you some old school that's cool.
