What r the hours for the market?

Saturdays from 7am till 1 or 2 pm.
Tuesdays from 3pm till 7 pm.

Went by there this past tuesday, not many vendors, farmers, or customers there. Could have been because of the rain.

The veggies are late this year due to the late plantings. Should have more crops coming due within the next several weeks.

I looking forward to some good corn and beans coming in.

I like the farmer's market but found it odd that they were asking for you to help with the fireworks and then you get a chance to win a $1000.00 Why wouldn't they just put the thousand dollars toward the fireworks?

Sounds like a lottery don't it?
Government officials are good at ways to entice money out of you.

You're pretty d-u-m-b dumb, son. The fireworks are put on by the Chamber of Commerce and they collect sponsors and do fundraisers to help pay for them instead of just sucking it out of the member dues. Firework costs keep going up and they need help to pay for it. If you win the $1000, you're welcome to contribute it toward the cost of the fireworks. That's what I do with the church raffles and it works out for everyone.

No I am not dumb,I was making a point and that is some statement to make from a so called church going person. I know the chamber of commerce puts on the fireworks. Just makes no sense to raise money for a cause then give a thousand away, must not need it to bad.. Those church raffles of your's don't sound very honest either.

They probably come out ahead by giving away $1000. Not many people will just donate money to buy fireworks but if they have a chance at winning $1000 they would be likely to buy tickets for it. If you have 4000 people who buy $5 worth of tickets each you will still have $19,000 left to buy fireworks with after giving away the prize.

I don't think the fireworks are a waste. A lot of people really enjoy them, and the independence of our nation is something we should be proud to celebrate.

Isn't it funny how people sell their children down the river and think they are having fun. We let LP who has said that recreation is more important than Police and fire protection and has proved his point by buying used vehicles for the Sheriff's dept while buying more and more property which we have no need for. Our children will leave here and go to another town to earn a living when they graduate school simply because our commissioner cannot and will not work toward getting industry to provide jobs. he sits on his ass with half finished buildings in the industrial park and travels anywhere he can have a good time but can't go and try to procure business for Union County. When your children leave and you no longer have them then maybe you can get your head out of your ass and elect someone with a little insight to the future. The move ins don't care. They moved here to get away from their kids because they don't care for them and only want to play.
