everytime I have went in this place it is packed with angry people and the rudest snobby fat lady behind the glass. you must sign in and wait in a very long line for hours to simply ask a question. paperwork is constantly lost, and i have called two days in a row once every hour and no one will answer the phone. how does a state office work this way its horrible. hall county and lumpkin are not this way. seriously (Wendy Burrel) needs to do her job in there or be replaced.

i have seen very old people wait for hours only to be turned away because it was then closing time and they were just told to come back later. and this was them being 1 of 3 people in the waiting home. its awful...almost as bad as the joke union county emergency room.

Government service. If you depend on it, get used to it. Was the same in Russia before their collapse.

You would not believe the lack of caring all around and cutting staff makes everyone on edge. It won't do any good to write to the higer ups either. In my opinion customer service nationwide is the pits.

I understand this poor economy under obama has cost the jobs of many government workers, but the ones still working in that office are rude and lazy making matters worse

Have any of you worked for the public? People are rude. They think the world evolves around just them. I agree that if someone holds this position then she needs the right personality for people, but also you don't know what may be going on in someone's life. Do unto others...Walk a mile....Get it?

The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is part of the GA Dept of Human Services, it is a State, not Federal, agency. Part Obama's stimulus package was to provide funds for state and local governements to shore up their budget shortfalls. Due to a lack of political will and Republican obstructionism this stimulus was never big enough, and the funds have run their course.

If your job that you are paid to do requires you to "work with the public" then do it or step away from the position. What ever is going on in your personal life should be checked at the door and not used as an excuse for not properly doing the job that you are hired to do. Also, they probably have "walked a mile" or they wouldn't be in the dfacs office in the first place. So, do unto others....Get it?

Me too. And it really is the truth. I am sure these people coming to that office are already at their wits end, the last thing they need is someone NOT doing their job. Thankfully, I have never had the need of their services, but in these times the elderly, more and more, are seeking help. God bless them.

IMO the Republicans are obstructing the right departments.
To many people on handouts, especially women who didn't have the decency to get married, get pregnant, then expect society to help pay their way.

many people there are too old to work, or have worked and due the times have lost their jobs and cannot help that fact. if you dont need any assistance consider yourself lucky. there are many who want to work, but there are just no jobs. and still the majority of those collecting "freebies" are illegals who have never paod their share of taxes in the first place. so yes the last thing a person already at there wits and having to ask for assistance needs is even more put downs

pray you keep your job, and never have to ask for help, because your outlook now is what you will have to look forward to. ;)

*Freebies seems to have some firsthand knowledge concerning the "freebies"... may possibly be concerned that someone truly in need will infringe on *Freebies freebies. Or works there and hates their job and resents the actual people that make the job position held even possible. The way things are looking, whatever freebies Freebies is worried about sharing will probably not be around much longer anyway, so the hated job position will not be an issue, it won't be there either.
