Missy, you don't have a clue to the anger in this town re this thief. If you were representing the health care professionals alone in this town, do you realize how many with their degrees, certifications, etc. have never EARNED $85,000 in one year?

I agree - mind your own business.
How many comments are people, the same people, going to make? Do y'all ever leave your house or get away from the computer? Geez, give it a break.

Ok, we're all sorry that Joy & Scully or whoever you're root toot tootin for got busted by accident. I suggest everyone on this forum and the other forum with her famous name on it be sure and drop in at her house on Saturday night for a little trick or treating. I'm going as a prisoner in a big bright orange jump suit and my friend is dressing up like a prison warden.
And here's a little tune to sing while walking away with our candy, "I've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart-where-down in my heart,where-down in my heart; I've got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart, down in my heart to stay.
Let her hear the love.
LOL, how funny.

And these people would never dream of stealing either. I guess she had a feeling of entitlement for some reason. It is a mystery to me why she needed all that extra money. She really lived a life of luxury for a year, but what a price to pay the rest of your life. It would not be worth it to me. How stupid to do such of a thing, and she has the audacity to think people should not be furious. I just don't get her mentality.

Do you think it was just for year? The way I understood it, and i could have read wrong, that the audit was for the past year. If they go back and audit years past, I'll bet you there is more missing. THAT is what she is squirming about now... cuz when that is exposed, there is no way she will be able to beg or borrow to pay it back. IMHO

$65,000 is not enough for me to give my life, freedom, and family up! No way! I sure hope what she bought was worth giving up the simple blessings in life. That's my opinion, anyways!

Amen, I am a taxpayer, so is my entire family, and we would not steal from the taxpayers or anyone else. She and her sister that worked at the bank stole money, a lot of it. They need to face the consequences.

With all the political figures surrounding this incident getting so much heat and not moving forward with some type of arrest or penalty she must have something over their head. I can't see them being this loyal to this county worker for just a friendship. There is a RAT in the wood pile!

I don't hear a word about this on the streets of Blairsville.
People aren't embarrassed and no one seems to care one way or the other because they have things of their own to worry about.
Since the money was refunded, it has been forgotten about. Have you tried getting a life?

Hello Joy, noone has forgotten, and it is still the talk of the town. I heard people discussing this crime in Wally World last week. I was at the meat counter and overheard the conversation. People are very upset by all this stealing. I think the guilty will have a hard time with their life, not the innocent. I assure you noone has forgotten the theft of over 65 thousand dollars and the bank theft either.

He looks a little worried to me, saw him in the tax office. He should take the theft of all this tax money seriously, because it is a crime that should not be swept under the rug, and the taxpayers and voters expect and demand he do his job, and press charges and see this does not happen again. We expect better. I wonder how many taxpayers have asked him if they can borrow tax money, wonder what was his answer.

Ya know what I think about all this. I think there are a lot of people in prison for stealing a lot less than this and would gladly pay it back if they could, but they are still having to serve the time. What is the difference? Why can't we just ask everyone that is behind bars if they would like to pay back what they stole and and let them back out. I bet you a shiny penny they would all want to do what Joy did and pay it back and say it was just borrowed. I just don't get it. I have lived here my entire life and am getting almost ashamed to say that, because of the negative associations of some of the locals. This kind of stuff is embarrassing to all the citizens, and when you think this is not being talked about, you are full of it...it is being talked about and people are angry. I can imagine that all the friends of Joy would like for everyone to lay off her, but it is just not right. I guess people aren't talking to you about it because you are her friend, but believe me when I say it is being discussed everywhere!!!!! And people do not like it and it needs to be dealt with from the top down.

The Grigg's are living in a fool's paradise if they think for one minute that the people of the community have forgotten about this crime, and are not talking about it. Everyone is talking about this theft and the theft at the bank. What part of stealing do they not understand. They of all people, with as many preachers in that family should know right from wrong. I guess they are like an ostrich, with it's head in the sand. Sometimes the truth is a bitter pill to swallow. I don't know how they can show their face in the community with all this mess they have created, just from the love of money and wanting more than they can afford. With all these people out of work in the county, both sisters and their husbands had good jobs, and they both still had to have more money. I just don't get it. As professed Christians, they should have been taking part of what they made and giving to the needy instead of stealing more for themselves. I believe their actions were criminal and very selfish, thinking only of themselves and their wants. What on earth could be worth losing your self respect, nothing that's what, and certainly not money. This will follow them for the rest of their lives and I guess you could say they got a life sentence, imposed on them by their own greed and selfishness. I would not step out my door if every time someone looked at me, all they would immediately think would be of me stealing from them. What a terrible thing to try to live down. This is an embarrassment for the entire county, that this could go on for months without being caught, and yes it does need to be dealt with in a court of law and anyone will tell you what the public opinion is on this, the criminal should be held accountable and pay for her crime, and the sooner the better!!!!!

I have heard about this in Blairsville, Hiawassee, Gainesville, Clayton, Murphy, in stores, restaurants, and being discussed in groups all over the place. It is the talk all over the surrounding counties. I have heard preachers talking about it. So if you think everyone has forgotten, think again. You must be a family member and of course they wouldn't say anything to you. I don't know why the public should be embarrassed. The embarrassed one should be the one that stole all that money over a year's time without any hesitation or any thought of what she had been taught from the bible about "thou shalt not steal". I would certainly be embarrassed in front of the congregation after stealing for over a year, with ample time to repent and come clean with what I was doing. It is going to be hard for the thief to get a life after all this, we all have lives and jobs and would never think of taking one dime from our employer, so who needs to get a life?
