Did they cut his exorbitant salary? I think if it is about money, there are a lot of pastors who would not be preaching without that salary and benefits package. I liked the times when preachers preached and didn't have to be paid for it.

Who is he?
Why did he resign?
Why is he starting a new church in the same town?

Didn't that church have a mass exodus a few months ago? What is the name of the new church?

Don't know about this case at all, but many people start churches so they can run it like they want to. They can be boss, they don't like deacons or they pick them, etc., and they hide their salaries by bungling them with other people on the payroll. I don't trust anyone that's asking me to give toward a pastor's salary and that salary is not public to those that are being asked to give. All the tax free allowances, etc., that a pastor gets from a church should also be published to the parishioners because that's part of his or her income.

IMO - I feel like sometimes these Pastor's aren't listening to the voice of God but are more focused on running their own agendas. Just because you leave a church does not mean you should start another one. Maybe their are other plans for them - and it may not be another church.

Faith Baptist Church fired their pastor also. I went there a couple of times and he was nice and gave a nice sermon, sometimes I think the Deacons are the real problem. The church is across from Enterprise, alittle down from Sears on the right.

Amen, there are several churches here that have preachers that tell their deacons how to vote or try to keep the finances of the church hidden, and I will not be a part of it. If a so called preacher tries to hide his salary or expense account what else would they hide? Why should a pastor have a huge salary when most of the church is hurting in this economy and they keep taking and taking from the congregation without a thought of the hardship on them. I just don't get it. I say freeze their pay, or better yet give them a pay cut and see who stays and who leaves and we will weed out the true Christians and the true men of God. Everyone that claims to be a preacher isn't. I can count the people I truly consider to be true pastors on the fingers of one hand, and they don't preach for a huge salary, and they are there to help when you need them. How many of you sit in your church office on your computer and read Topix. I thought so.
