Just welcoming you home and thanking you for your sacrifices.

The poll isn't working properly as I was attempting to find out a little about each of my fellow men and women Veterans that frequent this forum.

I served 24 years in the Navy and Retired out in 1989.

This was a unfit. I don't know any of them that ever served and most have no respect.

This forum has two classes of people. Misfits and unfits. ACOG is misfits and Paris supporters are unfits. The unfits are always trying to put down the misfits and will use their name to try and make them look bad. From what I know of ACOG they are the most patriotic folks around and only want a fair, honest and open govt. Being a Vet. I believe in their cause and appreciate their efforts. I doubt this makes a lot of sense to you but in time it will. It is strange that this thread appeared today because I was thinking earlier that it had been 47 years since I cheated death for the first time so the good Lord has given me a lifetime that I probably shouldn't have had but I am thankful for.

ACOG, you better be glad there is a Military, or your ass would have been missing along time ago or you would be someones prisoner. They fight to keep us free. You need to keep your mouth shut

Thanks REB.... I just did not understand what you were saying. Thanks. To all my brothers and sisters in arms thank you for standing beside me at one point in time even if many years are between us.

"ACOG": Who ever you may be I would like to say if you are unable to stand beside the troops then please stand in front of them. I find it hard to take what you say with any worth because I fully believe that you have no clue what it means to stand for what you believe in.

ACOG the more I have thought about the statement you made, I have done nothing but get more upset about it. Listen if you dont support out Military then you need to get out of this Country. You have your freedom, because of the Sacrifice made by all the Soldiers past, present, and future. You are just a stinking low life in my book.

The poll is working (somewhat) now.

The reason I started this thread was because I receive e-mails from many American Military Vets and had just received one that morning where it got me to thinking and remembering many things in my past.
It has been a little over 23 years since I retired from the Navy. Being An E-9 MCPO I have had the great honor to have known many that are now gone to their true rewards both while in active duty and since retirement, and I am also very proud to know many that are still with us today.
When I meet a stranger that I realize is a Veteran, no matter how old or young, male or female, no matter which time frame they served, Combat or not, I shake their hand and/or pat them on their shoulder and say "Thank-you for your Service to our Country" and "Welcome Home".
No matter how big of a hurry they may be in nor how bad of a day they may have had, I get a "Your Welcome" or Thanks. Most of the time we will take a few minutes to tell each other where and when we served and what our Rank and Rate were. It gives us a chance to reminisce and relate with someone "that's been there and done that".
You'd be surprised at the amount of spouses that say, "Thank-you. You made his/her day."
I will never stop doing this.

I don't believe that this is the real ACOG.
I think that this as*hole is some ignorant dumba** that is too cowardly to face ANY Veteran face to face and make such a comment.
THIS ACOG is the kind we Vets would love to catch alone somewhere.

The real ACOG is not necessarily one that I care for, but I can guarantee, she in her mind, is a patriot and would not post such a thing.

God Bless our Veterans and those of the Military who continue to serve.

I have posted this on other threads, but it deserves to be displayed here, in honor of those Heroes who have recently given their lives, particularly in the most disturbing battle at the Libyan Embassy.

**********

I have just listened to the father of Tyrone Woods a great American Hero who lost his life in the 9-11-2012 attacks on our Embassy in Libya. The father certainly reflects why his son was such an honorable hero. It breaks your heart to hear through such pain and sorrow such self-control, kindness, and forgiveness.

In light of today’s disclosure, we learn of the pleas for help from those American Heroes on numerous occasions, and the denial of that help. Even after sites were targeted by lasers, we now know orders, that could have saved the lives of these heroes, NOT to fire were given by the Obama Administration and instead orders were given to those fighting desperately for their lives to ‘”stand down.”

Needless to say in my view, this Administration hasn’t simply betrayed the trust of the American people, NO, it’s gone much further. Now, it appears that in the interest of political expediency for a failed Administration, actions I consider treason have cost the lives of Americans.

I agree about this Administration and I attempted to say more on the subject but the 'puter Gremlin intercepted the message and it did't post.
It must of been either too close to the truth or it was too long.
Oh well.
Another time.

Thanks for your service.

No offence but missing Slowpok already. Wondering if you can give any insight into his delegating to you the “place keep” and safe keeping of his past postings, as well as his trust in you to carry on in his behalf, a most unique posting persona, style, and dialect?

Look forward to your doing him proud.
