Common Sense Is Not Common
In response to Courthouse Security Pt. II---Sole Commissioner Paris asked; Q. How safe is safe enough? and answers; A. Common sense seems to have taken a back seat lately.
This is a true statement and nowhere is it more evident than than in the commissioners office itself.
Sole Commissioner Paris's responses clearly mirror the typical, lefty, knee jerk attitude of the pc “gun control crowd” who oftentimes “claim” to be “pro 2nd amendment,” while lacking even a rudimentary understanding of an individuals inherent, God given, natural right to defend oneself, ones family, and ones property from any and all attackers, anytime anywhere.
To make your case for a true “common sense” solution, you must first make sure you are arguing from true premises no matter how painful or abhorrent to ones ideology they may be.
Q. What is the common thread that connects all of the recent “mass shootings” to each other? A. They all took place in a so-called “Gun Free Zone” or more accurately a “Disarmed Victim Zone”.
Q. When was the last time you heard of a “mass shooting” at a Sheriffs Office, a Police Department, or a public gun range? A. Never.
Q. Why is that? A. Because all of these bad actors whether they are a “nut job” or a “common thug”, will always seek out a “soft target area”(Gun Free Disarmed Victim Zone) so as to maximize the “nut jobs” intended carnage or provide no resistance to the “common thugs” intended crime. God only knows how many innocent victims lives would have been saved at these “mass shootings” by one or more determined, well trained, armed individuals. The only thing that will stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun. Any CCP (Concealed Carry Permit holder) or Open-Carry individual present during an active shooter scenario at the courthouse would defend your lives (Sole Commissioner Paris and staff)to the death, why, because he/she is defending his/her own life from the same threat, and you just lucked out that he/she was there, defending your lives by default.
Q. Why is the so-called “Security Checkpoint” at the courthouse a bad idea? A. Because the so-called “Security Checkpoint” will only serve to effectively make potential defenseless victims of yourself, your staff, and anyone else conducting business at the courthouse by creating yet another “Gun Free Disarmed Victim Zone”. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results-Albert Einstein.
Q. How can we provide “real security” at the courthouse and save nearly two hundred thousand dollars at the same time? A. One way would be to implement a policy so that yourself, your staff, and anyone conducting business at the courthouse be allowed to CCP/Open-Carry. This policy combined with the usual presence of several armed LEOs would virtually guarantee (99.99%) that no bad actors would ever think of attempting a “mass shooting” at this “hard target courthouse”. This policy would also go a long way in earning the trust and respect of the local community whether they are gun owners or not, instead of alienating them by treating them as untrustworthy criminals. It takes an intelligent, strong leader with courage to go against the brainwashed pc “gun control crowd”, and actually take a true “common sense” course of action that will provide “real security” for all concerned. An armed society is a polite society. There is no down side to victory.
Q. Are you that leader Sole Commissioner Paris? A. To be determined...
Update from Q&A from July 16th 2014 issue; Sole Commissioner Paris now admits that HB60 does not require courthouse security.
Q. Did Sole Commissioner Paris personally “opt-in” to spend nearly $200,000.00 and create yet another (Gun Free Disarmed Victim Zone) making potential defenseless victims of himself, his staff, and anyone else conducting business at the courthouse? A. Yes, apparently he did.

Lamar loves to spend OUR money and he needed a excuse to raise our taxes this year.
It must be nice not to ask any one else in the county what they want to spend our money on!
He even writes his own Q/A section in the paper. They are actually quite amusing.

Just think! In Kennesaw Ga. it is agin'st the law NOT to own a weapon.
Kennesaw Ga., as it happens, has the lowest crime rate in the state of Georgia. Check the statistics.
