As our local, state, and federal Governments intrude deeper into our personal and private lives, it is incumbent upon us all to seek reasonable, responsible, like-minded fellow citizens in addressing and debating some of the most important issue of our times.

With the ultimate purpose being banding together in a united effort to remove corruption from our government, and replacing that corruption with God fearing honorable men and women willing to return to the Judeo-Christian Rational American Values upon which our Nation was founded.

That is what I seek from this forum. Those of you who have a sincere interest in those goals, starting from the grass roots local levels of government, until our cause effects every level of our government.

In reviewing this forum, I find many who I believe have the same goal. If you are sincere
in your desire to have a positive impact on our future, I look forward to communicating with you.

I say things in a much simplier way. Guess it goes back to being brought up in Union County when we were just a rual peice of land connecting NC to Ga. Things were much simplier then but much more complicated at the same time. The ability to provide for your family was more challenging than it is today. I know a lot of the younger folks would disagree with that but in the old days we had almost nothing. The dress plant was the first industry and it was a god send. I would like for Union County to retain some of the values of the old days and provide a well rounded place for my children and grandchildren to live and work. A place where justice can be found. Our biggest problems stem from a handful of men who have placed riches above all else. I know that they will someday answer for the people they have caused so much hardship on but I worry about the people who have not yet been subjected to their rath.

Thanks for your reply Reb:

Born and raised in the South. Lived in Georgia all my life. Reclaimed a little piece of my land, and heritage in Union County a little over 11 years ago.

Having just less than 30 years in Law enforcement and the Fire Service I am well familiar with the “Good Ole Boy”, as well as the “Home Boy” systems in Government. Of course, with the population ratios in our county we only see the former. With respect to “the Good Ole Boys”, they certainly don’t receive the credit deserved for providing opportunities for those with lesser means, who are definitely less affluent than they. Unfortunately, this often comes at the expense of individuals who are just as - to more qualified, but without such connections. Equally,“the Good Ole Boys” never receive the condemnation they deserve for the corruption of our public officials in government. In reality, I believe, one feeds the other as they continuously use people to advance their agenda ... greed and power.

You may view me as an idealist. However, I can attest to the fact that if an electorate is informed of the truth ... when corruption is exposed, they will react. I share your concern with regard to those who are innocent and well meaning being subjected to the wrath of corruption. Each individual must determine the importance of their contribution in making our community what it should be for our loved ones. I trust that there are enough responsible God-fearing voters in this community to take a stand and do the right thing when provided with truth, and the information necessary to make intelligent decisions. Undue wrath upon the innocent sometimes results in the downfall of the corrupt. At any rate, all this must be done in an organized reasonable, adult responsible manner. Creditably is essential.

By the way this darn thing is showing me in Dahlonega, GA. I live in Blairsville. Do you have any idea how to correct this?

Register with topix, Use your same topix name, use the flag as your picture. When you fill out your Q an A, list blairsville as your home. If you still show someplace other as your ISP than Hide it, and Blairsville will be listed under your name as your ISP.

As former law enforcement myself, and now in the private sector, I may agree with many of goals you profess.

We may not agree with all the paths to those goals; however, as that always seems to be the crunch.

I will look forward to your posts as your initial post appears to demonstrate education, experience, and the ability to rationally express your thoughts.

As a result, your thoughts are entitled to serious consideration.

Thanks folks:

It was nice to get such good response from some of you, who appear to be a few of the most responsible carrying this forum. Hope the positive response will continue. I trust we will probably agree on many issues, seeing your positive response to my initial introduction. So maybe there could be some communication, and contribution among us on those issues.

It is my intention to stay focused, avoid the juvenile distracters, and seek those that are sincerely seeking positive improvements in our government.

As I continue to identify the players, the good from the evil, the honorable from the corrupt, and the fact from fantasy I welcome your enlightenment. Of course to be successful in any legal conflict it’s important to obtain only probable cause to suspect, arrest or maybe indict, although normally indisputable evidence to convict. However, the same isn’t true for civil complaint, with regard to Elected/Public Officials. Probable cause to suspect wrongdoing is certainly sufficient for public discussion, calls for investigation, and punitive actions from appropriate authorities.

Reb - great forum ID, If you love the South, and our Heritage as I do, you got to be OK.

Slowpok - extraordinary character, thanks for the help, really fun and interesting posts.

Informed Opinion – seems we have much in common, thanks for the kind words.

Its Me – Thanks for your post, the way things are going, his return soon wouldn’t hurt.

GA-LAW, Reb, Informed Opinion, Its me - yes you have a fine group there.

I've read all your posts long enought to know you're all a bunch of retired old farts who have nothing to do but feel the political paranoia hebegebes.

Reading your posts tell me that y'all are retired, out of the loop, feel useless, disgruntled old fools who think they know everything - yep, just like the old farts in my neighborhood. The worst part is you think you know so much more than any woman - afterall, you WERE a man once.

I betcha a couple of you old farts have health issues (heart, HBP, stroke, hemorrhoids, prostrate, whatever), ya haven't been out in the real world in ages, ya stew over the smallest things, ya can't eat certain things cause you get gas or indigestion - GERD -
you are bored, like reruns of "All in the Family," wish you could fire your gun (the one between your britches, too), haven't had a BJ in ages unless you paid for it, or little winkie don't work no more.

Yep, I see your kind all over Blairsville with that sour little look like someone shit in your Cheerios.

Now, ACOG is a woman just like you fellas.

Now that is one of the best posts I have read on here! You nailed it woman and I am a retired old man. I have seen some of the same people with the men wearing their pants pulled up under their armpits and scowling at everyone and everything. I have also seen women the same way, all prune faced wearing their hair in a bun pulled back so tight it appears their eyes might fall out. Life is just too short to be so bitter and serious all the time. We have to enjoy life as much as we can for as long as we can. OH, and b.t.w. a working winkie can at times be a major distraction, sort of like being all dressed up with nowhere to go. Anyway, thanks for a great post. Starated my day off with my Cheerios and a good laugh.

Please tell us of a time in human history that has been free of corruption.

Would that be the nation that was founded by the US Constituion that does NOT mention God or Jesus, but does mention that certian types of people are 3/5th less than whole?

Just more revisionist claptrap, you should fit in well.

Some of my favorite people in the world are retired old men, because they *have* been there, done that. While they may repeat some of their stories a bit, they have good stories to tell and stories that have a point.

I try to respect my elders like my mother taught me and don't hide behind a screen name and call names or say ugly things. I welcome more grown up discussion. Topix needs it.

Just avoid the trolls.
