Mine has acted up 3 times just today as to where I couldn't get connected to the internet.. I can see this now and then but here lately it has been pretty constant which is unacceptable. Never had this problem at all over the past 3 years I have had Windstream. What is going on? Whatever it is I hope it is repaired quickly. My TV and internet is off more then it is on here lately yet they give you no discount for it. I pay my bill I expect the service. Two different days of no TV service all day, now the internet. Has become really annoying.

Windstream sets to silence internet speed woes
By Martin Dotson Staff

ATLANTA, GA - Internet speed woes from Windstream customers will soon be a thing of the past in parts of Northeast Georgia, according to statements from company officials.

CBS-Atlanta reported Windstream Communications is committed to solving its internet speed problems, looking to spend $14 million in 2013 to upgrade its broadband network in Georgia.

Bettye Willis, Regional Vice-President of the Arkansas based company, told teh TV station that Windstream's investment will improve service to customers in two-thirds of the communities it serves. She pointed out, however, that not every customer in each community will see upgrades.

"We're asking our customers to be patient with us because we're on it. We understand that they have issues and we're working to upgrade their network," said Willis.

A recent study by the Federal Communications Commission found Windstream was the worst in providing advertised broadband speeds, only doing so 81 percent of the time.

The company has been plagued with complaints of slow internet speeds for years, and according to the Governor's Office of Communications, there is an open investigation into Windstream for possible consumer law violations.

Willis suggested customers who believe they're not getting the service they're paying for should contact the company for a possible discount.

I live near Boy Scout Rd. and our internet service is still out. I hope all this outage is truly due to improvements being made, they're are much needed.

One thing you can do to gain speed while Windstream is regrouping or loitering is take some of the things off you use on start up. You will gain some speed. Also be sure you don't have a virus which can significantly lower your speed.
As for your other Windstream services be sure a cable near your driveway is not severed. I know it is frustrating but i had some of that happen to me at my other home.

so....the phones went out and that caused people to overload the internet. Gosh, I didn't know Blairsville was such an information super highway.

And their new system worked for almost 2 days:

"On Saturday, April 27th we completed the final phase of a three-phase upgrade, which had previously been extensively tested in our lab and successfully implemented in parts of the country. Post-implementation of this final phase, the network performed to expectation until Monday April 29th."

I'm glad they don't do heart valves.

Hi Meddie, sorry you stopped your posts on Ga Divorces. I thought you did a good job but sorry so many bad things happened that led to the divorce. You will find you probably will never fit in Blairsville Topix.

dang it, I fell for it again. My internet went out in TrackRock 3 days ago on Sunday, the recording said it would be fixed that night. Still out, and last night the girl had me crawling under the desk with a paper clip pressing the reset button over and over.
I feel like such an idiot.
